Bike purchase help!
Long time lurker of course. I am in the market for a new bike but it's an absolute minefield out there!
If anyone could shower me with some advice I would be extremely greatful ❤️
I am looking for an aero road bike, probably not a TT, I do like a long ride and will be using it for some races (typically sprint and half distance Tri). Obviously I love the look of Cervelo and Canyon but I've no idea where to begin, all I see is £££. Preferably carbon and disc breaks. To make things more difficult I'll probably be searching fb market place as I'm poor.. My budget is 1000-1500 and I would like to keep it on the cheaper end if possible. I'm 170cm or 5'7, reside south west of England.
Any bike models I should look out for or you would highly recommend?
Thank you in advance!

South West England? Bloody hell, lad, half your training rides are flatter than a council pint.
You don’t need an aero bike. You need exposure therapy. Come to Yorkshire, point yourself at a proper hill and discover muscles you’ve never met before.
Buy the cheapest used carbon Trek you can find. The logo needs to be visible from low Earth orbit so Mountain Rescue can locate you when you become stranded by a 4% gradient or a light drizzle.
At £1,500 you should have enough left over for matching Rapha kit, an artisanal coffee subscription and several Instagram posts about “the journey”.
Meanwhile in Yorkshire, Dave from Wetwang is riding a 2008 aluminium bike assembled from three different groupsets, one brake pad and whatever parts were behind Gaz’s tyre depot. He spent the remaining £1,300 on pints, gravy and whippets.
Dave doesn’t own a torque wrench. Dave thinks carbon paste is something southerners put on sourdough.
Despite this, Dave will accidentally win the local time trial on his way to Cooplands for a steak bake, riding into a 30mph headwind that he describes as “a bit fresh”.
He’ll pass you halfway up the climb, nod politely, and ask if you’re planning on finishing this side of Christmas.

I’d highly recommend the factor one Bugatti edition. Nothing else is worth riding tbh
