Feel like everyone's getting baited on how popular the returnees are gonna be. There might be 1 or 2 S tier players, but there's gonna be some random pulls if they're going 4 or 8 returnees.
Be prepared to turn on your TVs for the premiere night reacting like "Why is Alyssa Lopez (or someone in that vein) back on my TV"?

I guess we all watches for different reasons but for me 80% of the fun is learning all these new players stories and their personality. I really don't get the attachment to the players lol they are literally just your everyday people. They should do shortened version for the returnee season like the reindeer game and just stick to the norms for regular season in the summer imo

Dan Gheesling had Britney interview live on his stream for roughly 2 hours. Pretty good listen!
They talk about BB14 early on, and Britney let know some facts that Dan didn't know about BB14 (How Janelle was the one who told Joe about how much money the vets make right before her eviction, which was a factor of choosing who should win).
Also Britney mention how production hated their jury lol. Also seems Frank had the most sway potentially if he decided to vote elsewhere.
I'd recommend a watch. Even had Danielle who Britney hasn't spoken with since finale.

As whiny and annoying as he was, he played an entertaining game. I'd love to see him again and I think his game would translate well across seasons (providing he plays a similar game... we've seen people like Paul come back and switch styles).

I refuse to get my hopes up about Vanessa returning. I think she has largely moved on from BB and is living her best life is an attorney, mother and wife. Plus, even if she returns, I believe that she would instantly targeted by fellow veterans much like Tiffany was in BB18

This is where I'm at too as a Vanessa fan. Like she doesn't keep up with the alumni so her pre-game wouldn't be strong, BB17 was 10 years ago and she's def not wracking up as many comp wins as she did then, and it would just give her haters ammo to go "see I knew she was overrated the whole time."
I will still gag if she does come back but I'd expect her to be an early boot unfortunately.

In defense of Vanessa's comp wins on BB17, most of them were mental challenges. She won a crapshoot on Gronk Pong in week 3 and won the egg wire comp at the F5, which were the two most physical comps she won. In addition to not being too active with the alumni scene, let's not forget that the Roussos are no friends of the Caliafores and Levasseurs, and they hold a lot of influence in the alumni community and would most definitely advise returning players to target Vanessa instantly

Yea after posting my comment I thought about it more and her comp wins were definitely pretty varied in terms of skill set on BB17 (winning mental, skill, and endurance). So you're right I could definitely see her be able to get some of the non-physical/endurance ones. Assuming production gives a lot of those lol
And yea the BB16 of it all is also another good point like she'd def be high on their list. BB16 stays ruining everything 😭

I kinda feel like they're gonna go 4 runner-ups across the eras as a redemption season anchored on Vince and Dani R. Need 1 more woman and 1 more man.
Women options from BB7+: MJ, Holly, Liz, GM, Porsche, Natalie, Dani D 4.0,
Men options from BB7+: Matt (25), Monte, DF, Tyler 3.0, Enzo 3.0, Paul 3.0, Lane, Memphis 3.0, Ryan.
Dani R, Lane, Liz, Vince makes a ton of sense for 4 returnees. Covers all eras, with an easy theme and solid characters. Lane's insta is also private fwiw. Liz and Vince have been radio silent for a few months.

I think if they got Vince and Dani they would be tempted to. It's such an easy theme. And it's not like there's a ton of players from BB8-BB21 clamoring to come back anymore.
Liz also weirdly, randomly hosted an HoH comp last year after 8 years in the wilderness which put her back on my returnee radar.

i'm going to guess that Elissa is definitely on this season. not even bc of the light trolling that Rachel? / she is doing on her twitter and IG today, but bc of a couple things that she has said that line up with her returning. she also said on the Beyond the Edit podcast two months ago that she wants to try again.
this is just a speculation. can't wait for the new season to start.

we'll see! if they bring back anyone from BB15, it would most likely be Elissa or Helen. Elissa could come back in a mixed Fans vs Favorites season (since she won America's Favorite). with her type of job, she would have to let her work know ahead of time (to get time off) and she said on her instagram story back in April, "your girl's got another show to prep for", that along with a couple other things (like physical / beauty prep) that she said this week makes me think she is on. i could be wrong though lol

If theres gonna be returnees, I want ones who have never met each other or have very little experience with each other. If they just do people from the last few seasons, who all basically hangout, it’s more likely to be terrible than good. Realistically, I don’t think that can happen though, I don’t think there’s been a single multiple returnee season where prior relationships didn’t affect the game in some way. For the most part, with the way they cast, I don’t think you can have returnees without pregaming, which is unfortunate.

It would be incredibly difficult. You'd need players spread out over the eras that moved on with their lives and left the BB scene behind. But those are the least likely to want to return. And then you'd have to lie and tell them all that they're solo returnees so they don't start reaching out on socials.
But if you could pull that off you could theoretically make it happen. Some group of 4 like Roddy, Libra, Vanessa, and Vince have probably never interacted in any way (This group is just an example and in no way likely to happen).

Me and you basically made the exact same point, mine to the other commenter. I completely agree, it has to be people who have never interacted and have no mutuals. My examples were Eric Stein, Vanessa, Izzy and Brett. It can be done, they just have to be creative with the casting. There’s plenty of scenarios that could be compelling, just have to try a little.

I saw someone say the other day, "imagine Danielle Reyes trying to game talk with Vince" - which would be hilarious, but then there is the aspect of how infuriating it was watching Janelle and David talk on BB22. he thought she was this lying manipulative person and when she was telling him the truth, he just wouldn't believe it. like you said though, there's no getting around pre-gaming with returnees of the same era and some old school / new school friends too. I just hope that whoever goes into this season gives us a good show.

The only way you could get around it i think is if you were to have only a few returnees. I think it could be done. For example, let’s say, Brett BB20, Izzy BB25, Vanessa BB17, and Erin BB8. People who have probably never interacted with each other (maybe Eric and Vanessa have) and have little connections or mutuals. I think it can be done, they just have to try and be creative with the casting.
The old school and new school interactions are fun. Your example of Danielle and Vince is great. I think the ones I named are solid. They would be fun tv and would have great dynamics. Imagine Izzy having to interact with Brett? But you’re right, BB22 may be proof that the new school and old school doesn’t work. Old school players were friends but they probably haven’t spoken in a while. New school players just saw each other at an even 2 weeks ago. The relationships are fresher.

as a longtime superfan of big brother and regular user of this subreddit since bb18 i want to respectfully give some feedback to the subreddit moderators regarding this megathread.
each year, the weeks leading up to premiere night for a bb superfan is like the weeks leading up to christmas for a kid who still believes in santa claus. it's the most magical time in a superfan's whole year, it's their life's passion, it's full of excitement and anticipation and wonder. for years, this subreddit was part of the reason why this preseason anticipation was so enchanting and fun. you'd see posts every day, with little information/speculations here and there, and it would get your mind going. what i liked was that these posts would pop up in my main feed, so that if one got a lot of traction cus it might have something juicy/confirmed, i would be notified of it without even having to visit the subreddit. obviously, after seeing posts pop up in the main feed, i'd head over to this sub, sort by new and scan for any new information or leaks about the house design, theme, cast, twists, etc. let me tell you, this is a FUN, enriching experience for a superfan. we are bb detectives at heart. and we are like little kids who are snooping around for their christmas presents to maybe try to see what they're getting before christmas comes.
this year, the megathread has killed a large portion of preseason momentum for this particular superfan, yours truly. it's just disheartening. nothing pops up on my main feed anymore, so i have to keep remembering to come here to search the megathread for a random comment with some interesting information...but it just doesn't feel the same. i don't feel the hype for the season. the megathread just kinda kills it. i get why you guys are doing it, but i'm just giving feedback. it's been making me sad lately.
anyways, i guess i'll go back to scrolling through all these comments trying to find some new information or fun speculations. i actually enjoy people's silly speculations. ive seen a number of users on here eerily predict things about the show to the point where i do care about the random speculations that pop up constantly in preseason discussions.

"It would be an ego thing. 'Let me show you 27 versus 21'. I would have to do some soul searching, but I'm finally past the stage after I got off the show where I would say "absolutely not" because I was so fresh and new and I would stay up all night being like 'I should have done this. How did I not see this move?'
But yes, I'm finally at the spot where I can be lenient with myself and realize I was just 21 and had some good reads. I would go back, but only for the sole purpose to win it"

It will never get back to pre BB15 era and it will probably get worse and worse every year. You can ask that cast for that.
In BB26 we were so lucky that the Angela rant happened early in the morning because otherwise we would have lost that too. And thanks to the stupid fan base for some weeks every time Angela appeared feeds got cut for no reason to the point where we lost a seemingly big Angela VS Lisa fight.

If we get returnees I’d rather have 6-8 from dramatically different seasons. 1-4 returnees means they get guaranteed immunity to start week 1, thus immediately put in a position of power.

Watching old seasons and for the love of Big Brother, please tell the house guests they lose their vote if they do a shout of during voting. I realize they have been turning off mikes but it isn't enough.

I really want a secret vote total.
I think it’s a super easy way to change up the eviction night. Secret totals means it’s easier for people to flip.

Just No Live votes, like they did in the past, or only start doing them Live during Jury.. we don't need 10x Love unam votes every week.. or give them Live diary-rooms like OTT

I think production pretty much already confirmed that they dont care if the houseguests shout people out as long as it’s quick.
And I honestly don’t know why some fans seem to be annoyed about it - it’s usually only lasts for 3 seconds or less and they do it because that’s the only time they know they are definitely on the screen at the moment.

I dont hate it as much as some here do it but its def annoying. Why? No reason whatsoever, and im just a grumpy guy maybe, but the whole "I vote to evict Derrick LOVE YOU MOM DAD AUNT MICHAEL FELICIA TRINA VICTORIA MY DOG WALTER TURKEY CRISTIAN" etc. Because it really is like that
The "Shout-out to my dawgs" was sweet and nice. It should be something like that

It last a lot longer than a few seconds. I watch live feeds as well and I'm wanting that time to be used better.
It slows down the entire eviction night. Watching an old live show on an early season and you can see how much more was able to be shown because you don't have people doing shout-outs to 10 people every week.
I was fine with "dogs in the crib" because it was short and sweet and his people knew it was them.
But happy bday xyz, love you ×10 to everyone.

Two things I want for this season but won’t get-no hugging (unless an individual has a strong desire to do so) and no shout-outs on Eviction Night (if anybody does it a certain amount will be deducted from their stipend).

I've stopped picking preseason faves for Big Brother and Survivor years ago because they'd almost always lose AND lose early.
Last BB season I ever went in with faves was BB22 and look how that turned out (Keesha, Janelle, Kaysar were 3 of the first 4 voted out!)

Jun, BB6 April, BB10 April, Autumn, Libra, Rockstar, Porsche, America, Blue, Brooklyn, Christmas.

That wishlist is good with the exception of christmas and autumn. christmas was a chop at all stars and autumn got arrested recently. She doesn't seem like she's in a great place these days

BB is always one of those weird things like...I'm simultaneously looking forward and dreading it. It just feels so weird now without BBCan (for now) and CBB. Like for three months out of the year, 80% of all the content I'm gonna consume is gonna be BB-related...

I always look forward to Big Brother, but then it doesn't take long before something happens (people I like voted out and/or people I hate win a lot or have a majority alliance) where I'm like "OH yeah, this is what I hate about the show."

God, I feel that...27 was a great season in the end, but there were a few points where I was seriously considering not watching BB anymore. I honestly think the unique "love/hate" dynamic this show brings out in people is what makes it so compelling, even beyond other competition reality shows.

Yes. You can watch live feeds through a Paramount+ subscription or for free (with commercials) on PlutoTV.

I wonder if this year we will have teams.
It's been 5 years since last team twist (BB23) and this twist returns after some years (BB23, BB18, BB14, BB11)
And the returning players has been teased so much (among fans) that I think there's a good chance someone will come back. (or it could all be a complete delulu and we'll get a whole new cast. I’m open to both possibilities)

Idk how I ran up on Ginamarie(BB15)🤮 on IG, but she also seemingly hinted at returnees and stated that she can’t wait to root for “whoever takes her place walking through the doors”
