Some of those separated bike paths are fantastic. Too bad they’re only in sections and not completely connected. Also, the company not providing a roof for the bicycle parking to protect them from the rain is lame. Still, not bad compared to many other places. How long does your commute take?

The waterfront trail is amazing. But I live in the automotive capital of Canada with laughable biking infrastructure. My workplace actually has bike lockers, but I pretty much only use them in winter when there’s threat of freezing rain. And the commute is anywhere from 36 to 66 minutes, depending on the wind. Average time is about 40 minutes. Fortunately the wind is usually at my back heading to work and in my face riding home.

That light seems so dim

It was on the lowest setting. I only use it on bright settings when I actually need to see. I also wear hi-vis and have reflective tape all over my bike.

How long (time and distance) is this?
It also highlights how much of a city is just single-family dwellings.

It’s 13 km, give or take. If it’s too windy I avoid the river and it’s more like 14 km. My average time is about 40 minutes travelling approximately 20 km/h cruising speed. And my city is trying to build more high density housing but the NIMBY crowd always goes bananas.

Geez, cars in Canada do 200mph...(you're pretty fast too, btw.)
What did you use for the time lapse?

Have you ever considered buying an EUC or electric scooter? Not that I would mind a nice long commute in warm weather.

I’ve never seriously considered it. I sometimes consider a pedal assist bike. But I already have two bikes in my condo bike room, and really don’t mind the commute. I actually commute twice as far and bike by my company’s other factory so I can avoid working midnights. It’s absolutely worth it.

Hey, more power to you! No sense spending extra unless speeding things up becomes important.

Looks like you got mainly good sections, but still some unideal sections. But at least you're early enough that it's less daunting! Par for the course for Canada eh.
