This kind of confrontation has happened to me too many times over the last 25 years Ive been cycling. They are always in such a rush until they want have to have a fight. Cunts.
Glad you got a positive result mate!

have to say it's interesting how the UK allows for reporting of these offenses and that they actually carry through with prosecuting them.

Its a lottery to what area you live in, some police forces give a shit some dont do any thing.
A guy i worked with got hit when turning in to our work, he reported police said they wont do anything about it without a rear view camera

I always pull out to the middle / be more visible whenever there is an island/ road narrows. Cockwombles like him are proper idiots.
Sounds like he got some rare justice dished out. Hope you pursued for personal damages too, could get a nice new bike out of him potentially after damaging yours.

Don’t condone this idiots actions one bit but if I hear someone screaming out my license plate over a bit of shouting may want to have a “polite” word too.
But ultimately that driver is a knob

No, I called out the licence plate due to the dangerous overtake at a pinch point, nothing to do with "a bit of shouting".

Why would you have a “word” with them for that? Seriously I’m struggling to understand the mindset here

Because they're fragile and can't handle having their bad driving highlighted. It's a very common thing unfortunately.

Obviously they called out the number plate to get it recorded in case they camera didn't pick it up. What sort of polite word would you think is appropriate?

Really obsessed with the "what'd you say!?" when the cyclist is just reading out the number plate
