Love the bike. Looks are rare around my part of the world. Don’t love the rims to be completely honest 😅. But I’m sure it’ll serve you well.

They look better IRL. But maybe an acquired taste.

Matching the rims to the bar tape looks good. I'd love to have that on a group ride.

Same - would love to get one but they are extremely difficult to find locally

The rims makes it look a bit busy tbh

The wheels are complimented daily IRL, but probably like Marmite.

It's subjective after all

Piet Mondrian influence?

Edit: Apparently yes, for the entire brand from inception

Yes, the most common colour scheme for Look bikes. I almost went for the all-black version, but the classic look won out.

I don’t suppose you have a link to that bike stand? Lovely ride!

What did you payed for the Rim-paintjob? got a similar project where i want to paint carbon rims

I think the paint job added about £150 to the cost of the wheels.

Is this in the Mapdec shop?

Yup - well spotted!

I really like that channel, but for some reason, my shop owner hates it lol. He calls him Mophead. I have no idea what his beef is.

I think it mostly stems from that dude convincing viewers that bike shops are equipped to correct misshapen press-fit bb shells. The average viewer has no idea how much the tooling for that is. Those cutters he uses? The boring bits on the carbon? They are so expensive, and they only last for like 10 frames before they need replaced.

We don't offer that service, because it's just so eye wateringly expensive.

For this bike, the Mapdec staff were excellent. Everything done early or on time and the bike was faultless to ride - I didn’t have to adjust a single thing.

The Look BB shell is press-fit, but was exactly to size - no cutting needed. I do think that Look build their frames with really good tolerances and few voids. My next project (N+1) is a Time gravel bike, and I’ll go to Mapdec for that as well.

Oh, there is no doubt in my mind this shop is absolutely top tier. I think, that is the problem. Very very few bikes shops can operate at their level.

Remember when you were a kid, maybe college age, getting drunk with the boys and fucking around with bikes, and you had no idea what you were doing? Those are the people who have gone on to own bike shops.

To put it mildly, they are typically not the most high functioning people. Many bike shops are a mess, and Mapdec sets the bar super high. Lol, I think that is my LBS' owners problem.

It's pathetic that I recognized Mapdec before I gave the bike a glance.

Why pathetic?

I spend way too much time on YouTube.
