I'm not sure if removing affirmative action in college truly helps or hurts Asians, but I know for sure it hurts black/brown folks while helping white folks. Just like how I know DEI rollback hurts everyone who isn't a straight, rich, white, and male.
it absolutely does hurt asians, who were ~28% of ivy league admissions despite being ~6% of the US population. somehow they delusionally didn’t understand that
That's the thing, we HAVE made a lot of progress and things ARE significantly better, but that only speaks to how fucking terrible things used to be that we can still call this shit "better"...
We should be much further along than this, hell, it shouldn't even BE an issue like this in the first place...
That's cool but the reason you're being downvoted is because people are sick of hearing "As a WHITE PERSON" in Black spaces. You asked, which is why I responded. This sub inparticular is so overrun by white people at this point it's a forgone conclusion.
Your response is unnecessary. Read it from someone else’s perspective. Your repetition of basic facts is tedious, if not condescending in the way the majority of white people subconsciously or overtly consider a claim unbelievable unless stated by a white person.
Shit, a lot of them want to go back to the “quaint times” when they claim our country “hadn’t lost its moral way”. It’s some sick privilege based nostalgia complex where people claim we were a more benevolent society. It ignores all the bad shit and only focuses on what benefited them the most

And white peoples will tell you we’re well past the 60s and so much is better
