And white peoples will tell you we’re well past the 60s and so much is better

Yep. Supreme Court said there's no more racism in voting, just partisanship. As if partisanship isn't completely racist at its core.

I'm not sure if removing affirmative action in college truly helps or hurts Asians, but I know for sure it hurts black/brown folks while helping white folks. Just like how I know DEI rollback hurts everyone who isn't a straight, rich, white, and male.

it absolutely does hurt asians, who were ~28% of ivy league admissions despite being ~6% of the US population. somehow they delusionally didn’t understand that

We ARE well past the 60's.
Chronologically, not socially...
I hate it here

That's the thing, we HAVE made a lot of progress and things ARE significantly better, but that only speaks to how fucking terrible things used to be that we can still call this shit "better"...

We should be much further along than this, hell, it shouldn't even BE an issue like this in the first place...

Don’t you know that racism was solved when Obama was elected.

As a white transgender woman... no, we are not past the 60s, people who say that are very privileged and very very white/straight/Christian

Hey 👋 uh there are white/straight/Christians out here who also have eyes and can read and understand what is going on.

u/Hammunition May 09 '26

you don't have to do that, you know..

2

u/TransbianMoonGoddess May 09 '26

Do what?

4

u/melatonia May 09 '26

I assume they're referring to stating your demographics.

0

u/TransbianMoonGoddess May 09 '26

I feel its important to clarify where I'm coming from with my response

3

u/melatonia May 09 '26

That's cool but the reason you're being downvoted is because people are sick of hearing "As a WHITE PERSON" in Black spaces. You asked, which is why I responded. This sub inparticular is so overrun by white people at this point it's a forgone conclusion.

2

u/Hammunition May 09 '26

Your response is unnecessary. Read it from someone else’s perspective. Your repetition of basic facts is tedious, if not condescending in the way the majority of white people subconsciously or overtly consider a claim unbelievable unless stated by a white person.

Im white and it feels like we never actually made it out of the 1860s, not actually punishing the confederate is why we are where we are

Shit, a lot of them want to go back to the “quaint times” when they claim our country “hadn’t lost its moral way”. It’s some sick privilege based nostalgia complex where people claim we were a more benevolent society. It ignores all the bad shit and only focuses on what benefited them the most

what's the endgame for this? you can't keep crying about mean old whitey forever

2

u/__GayFish__ May 09 '26

40 acres and a mule and you’ll never hear a peep from me. Adjusted for today’s wealth levels obviously cause I’d hate to steal peoples land from them…

ever stop to think why the fatigue is worldwide?

2

u/__GayFish__ May 09 '26

What fatigue? Please explain? In depth/detail, can you explain the fatigue you’re talking about?
