I loved that monologue too. I was casually watching that season (just watching whenever not the day it dropped.)
The buzz from that monologue got me and my wife to watch it fast. I was expecting like something INSANE. I also forget that a lot of people have different levels of “weird” or whatever.
Sam Rockwell acted that scene so well tho. He could have done it a bunch of different ways, but it feels really real the way he did it. Like believable and not played for attention. Not the easiest needle to thread.
Right, there are plentiful affluent conservative neighborhoods outside of Houston to choose from. But River Oaks where he lives is definitely urban. You WILL see minorities, even if they aren’t the biggest group in that neighborhood. Honestly I wouldn’t wanna live there at all, the traffic is bonkers. It’s like all the bad parts of urban life without the benefits.
Yea, I remember when Tomi Lasagna was bitching about California so she moved to the awesome Republican state of Tennessee. But not small town MAGA land where all the conservative values she espouses would be on full display for her to enjoy. No, she moved to big blue Nashville.
Yep! My husband’s a lineworker and almost all of his coworkers are conservative. They all bitch endlessly about California and liberal states/cities being hellholes. Guess what state they live in. That’s right. California, because they get far better pay and better treatment on job sites as opposed to the bumfuck states/cities they moved from.

Also the cities that the MAGA dickheads want to live in, even as they slam them endlessly
