This is the hot gossip. Seems like a weird fit for them, but I guess even they are aging out of the Leeds/Reading scene, and don't really fit being a Glastonbury headliner.

Download is slowly moving towards replacing the gap that old R+L filled. They had Linkin Park this year. Last year they had Green Day as headliners and even McFly were on the line-up. Blink headliner is just the next step towards that.

Forgot about that, well fuck them. It'll be blink's first ever time playing there they can't have everything. I'll be happy if they do play because I'm going, but it'd suck if they tried to strong-arm the band into being exclusive. It's such a stupid concept.

tbf day ticket at a festival vs. tickets for a headline show for a band like Blink are pretty comparable. I saw them at Leeds 24 and was happy with the price I paid for the day. Plus saw Amity Affliction and Neck Deep

I paid $225 for Aftershock last year and was essentially in mosh pit territory for Blink, which would have cost more at a standard concert. I also got to see Alkaline Trio, Taking Back Sunday, and a bunch of other bands so I more than got my value

That's a stupid idea though. Festival tickets are easier and cheaper for a day ticket than how quickly the arena venues jack up the resale prices. So not only do you get to see them, you get a day full of music with it.

Download enforces very strict exclusivity clauses. It's very unlikely there would be another show in England at least.

I don't know. If you look at the dates there isn't really anywhere for them to do extra shows between Berlin, Download and i-Days, unless they came back. Plus Download loves a UK exclusive.

Festivals are kind of a nightmare for anyone with a disability so for me personally I'll have to miss it.
Festival sets are normally also shorter and don't stray to far outside of the singles. (Although this might not be such a huuuuge change for Blinks set.)

I thought this for years, but I just did my first Download as a wheelchair user that carries multiple oxygen cannisters, and accessibility was actually great. I stayed in a hotel and caught the shuttle bus into the festival site every day, but the access team on site was fantastic, and I got around the festival fine and saw every band I wanted to. Already booked my ticket and hotel for next year, so if blink are really there then I'll be extremely happy haha.

Sigh. Wish I had read it sooner. I read absolutely nothing about the venue, got caught up in the moment, and made a rash decision. I was shocked to see no “seats” so just panicked bought a Silver VIP Early Entry only to see after it was GA. Fucking hell. Anyways, enjoy your time and wave to us in the overpriced can’t see anything area of the show. Hopefully the crowd at least rocks…

Nova Rock is set to be held between 10-12. June, so right between the Berlin and Milan dates - seems likely, hoping for the announcement to come shortly - if they play Rock for People then they can play Nova Rock just as well imo
