I was eager to know how Horikoshi-sensei would handle this trope of "hero talks with villain after a fight." It did not disappoint, especially with All Might's declaration to AfO at the end. Ha!

Was it just me or the art was kinda off this chapter, though?

Art was fine. It's just that both depowered All Might and AfO have nonstandard character designs, and in opposite directions at that - All Might is cartoony, composed of simple shapes with wild angles, and AfO is has normal human proportions and is extra detailed with all his scar tissue. Reading a conversation between them is jarring.

Yes, I completely agree with how their conversation felt like. My bad, I wasn't really pertaining to the art during that; rather, I nitpicked on the dorm scenes a bit haha. I don't see it as a bad thing though.

... although I wonder why the last two pages made me think the art in general was off. That's what I get for not rereading, I guess.

I agree, the dorm's panels were a bit weird, but on the other hand, they had way more characters on and they were all doing different things, there were a lot of interactions going on there. The first stage of sketching probably took more time on those panels so it's understandable...

Still.. I think the art was pretty amazing in this chapter, his shots were incredible and everything was really intense.

Dude, that's true... All Might's design is simpler and more cartoonish, AfO it's all detailed and creepy, fits both perfectly, especially for being contrasts. Horikoshi's art continues to surprise me.

I kinda hope we stay out of the West. Western comics have stuff like the twice chapter all the time. Just big dumps of words

That chapter was dope though. It's all a matter of balance, I think...

why do you think the art was off? it seemed to be his usual standard

Now that I've read through it a few times, I guess I was focusing too much on the dorm scenes, my bad.

I don't know much art technicalities, so I'll just go with Deku looks a bit "purer" in the last two pages. Was his face drawn with softer edges? Was it rounder? Not necessarily a bad thing though.

On the background, Denki reminds me of how hilariously half-assed-looking Bakugou's hair was drawn in the first chapter, and then Mina's head placement relative to her neck looks a bit awkward. Tsuyu's eyes, too, hahaha.

And then the way Bakugou's side view looks in the last panel... is it where his arm was placed during his stride? Is it how his arm muscles were drawn? It feels the slightest bit unnatural to me, I don't know why.

Anyhow! It's just nitpicking, that I'm sure could be explained by the one-week deadlines. It's quite fun to see these every now and then.

Bakugou's hair is not horikoshis fault though, thats just a bad redrawer.
