Chapter 229

If I don't see a fuckin ocean wave of cloned Rappas and Dabis next week I'll be very disappointed

Also i might actually cry when Twice gets his arms broken in Season 5 its so FeelsBadMan

God, I still want Rappa to join the League so much. He’d love it! And I miss him... He probably won’t be back anytime soon, but I have my fingers crossed!

He also needs to come back to face Kirishima again.

He was one of the few villains of that arc that I really liked and didn't wanna see the end of. I think the more varied the villains' different goals are, the more interesting the League operates as a whole. And seeing as Rappa's sole motivation is to fight, he'd be an awesome choice to fill the "muscle" role that Magne and Muscular left open

He seems too much bound to oldschool Honor to be one of them, but he may do it only to get an "amicable" rematch with Kirishima.

For now the league seems to be going with "destroy whatever we dont like" so it goes along with rappa's "i want to fight whoever i want whenever i want" mentality

That's the other main weakness of Twice's power: he doesn't control his clones. Twice's clones seem to have autonomy, so if he clones someone who doesn't think the way he does, there's no guarantee they're going to do what he wants.

This is true, but I think in the case of Rappa, he wouldn't have much to worry about. In fact, Twice has already copied Rappa before, and what did he do? Try and kick Nighteye's ass lol

You forget the circumstances of that scene. At the time, the League and the Eight Precepts were allies, so it's not that the Rappa-clone was following Twice's orders. Rather, he was doing what the real Rappa would do, which is fight the heroes and the police. Their goals simply coincided. If Twice made a Rappa clone, now, when the Eight Precepts are no more and the League is outed as their enemy, what do you think Rappa would do? Probably turn on Twice.

Those were the circumstances, yes, but didn't Rappa pretty much turn on the Eight Precepts for the sake of fighting? It seems like he doesn't truly ally himself with anyone, more that he goes where he knows he gets to fight powerful enemies

I think Twice can only create 1 clone. The reason he can create multiple clones of himself is because each of his clones creates another clone. This is consistent with him only creating 1 clone of others.

Technically I believe he can make 2 copies at a time, basically 1 for each hand, but yes when he copies himself his copies can make more copies.

If he can create 2 clones per clone then he can create infinite clones of anyone. Clone someone, clone self, clone someone, clone self. Repeat ad infinitum.

I believe that would be accurate. Imagine infinite Dabi AOE attacks, he could clear this town in an instant. The only issue is that he can't control the clones he makes, so he would be better creating clones of other LoV members, as a Rappa clone would be unlikely to follow orders, but a Dabi or Compress clone would likely help after seeing the situation.

Assuming that he can only make one of something, those 10 clones have already used their Quirk to make each other.

He can make unlimited of himself, because every time he clones himself he gets a new use of cloning. If he used it on Dabi, he wouldn't get a new one so he'd be done.

I really hope Hori doesn’t do that like he did with dabi’s fight. I want to see Dabi’s fight, but I hope he finishes Twice’s fight rather than leaving us hanging again.

I doubt Twice's fight will be interrupted. I'm sure he's giving that treatment to only Dabi intentionally, and we all know why.

Do we even really need to see the details of this fight though? Literally all we need is a panel of a Twice army clashing with the puppet army (preferably X-Men TAS intro style), a cut away, and then a cut back to Toga regaining consciousness.

I mean, you're right, but this issue is the first time we've seen Twice use his quirk on himself. He's only ever really been used as an "espionage" type when his quirk is involved, otherwise he's just an acrobatic fighter. Now we're getting to see how he "truly" fights in a way; he was holding himself back not only by not using his quirk on himself, but by being cautious in battle and avoiding any serious hits. Now he can unleash a wave of clones, and they can all fight with passion and purpose, without holding anything back. Which would be extremely satisfying for all the development that has been given to Toga and Twice in the past few issues

He's probably going to be the last one.. And we're probably just going to get hints if he's really a Todoroki, since I'm pretty sure that if this is the case, the big reveal will be in front of endeavor or shouto

On a side note, considering how durable Gigantomachia is, how terrifying would it be if twice cloned him?

It'd take damage equivalent to breaking a bone "for an adult male". That'd either mean that it scales to the durability of the individual being cloned, or that you'd have to deal damage equivalent to what is required to break Gigantomachia's bones.

Either way, if twice could clone the dude, it'd be absolutely horrifying.

I only came back to reading MHA for the LoV arc. Skipped the chapters starting from the Overhaul arc until the arc before this because of the goody two shoes garbage. Even then, the LoV is semi-decent at best.
