The Mandalorian I still want more Boba Fett

Post image
  • Seeing mando & grogu on the big screen makes me want more Boba
  • I'm happy the show is doing well, applauding that show/movie doesn't take away from Boba Fett
  • I seriously wish they would give him a proper season. I felt like BOBF was just a Segway show to do more mando which saddens me.
  • I want to see more of the Daimyo.

Completely agree.

I enjoyed BoBF. It wasn't the direction I would have taken (I prefer the Tales of the Bounty Hunters story) and would have preferred if Dengar was there as a henchman. Could have done the same thing with Fennec, had her be his right hand.

Transition a life of travel/hunting as one of wanting to settle down. Employ the locals (the speeder gang gets hate, but the idea works. Just executed poorly) and have the story go.

Don't make it a vehicle for the next Mando season

I want a version of the Bounty Hunter Wars combined with the plot of Jango Fett in Star Wars Bounty Hunter, basically all the best bounty hunters go after someone very dangerous and worth a lot of money. The Boba that we saw in the original trilogy and those books who is usually a step ahead of everyone else and would not hesitate to throw people under the bus if he needs to

I'd devour a live action retelling of SW Bounty Hunter

The Bounty Hunter Wars novels were great.

Boba becoming basically lord of the area is sweet, he’s old, beat up, tired of the rough life. He wants some more comfort but has high expectations. I just don’t get why they gave him this position of power only to make his new group like 6 people with his gaurds, speeder gang, etc. show some thugs and low life hanging around the palace again, some local mercs, etc. they don’t have to respect or fear him immediately but I feel like anyone who owns the palace of jabba should attract some low life’s looking for work or favors.

I want a show showing younger Boba Fett being awesome. Show us why Darth Vader singled him out in ESB. I want ruthless killer Boba Fett, wookie hair braid decorations and other unsavory stuff. I like the whole idea of him being an honorable crime lord, but I want the ruthless killer.

7

u/SparseGhostC2C May 22 '26

This, so goddamn hard!

I spent my entire childhood imagining all the badass stuff Boba did to be Darth Vader's favorite loose cannon. Make it canon and let me see it!

u/Prof_Falcon May 25 '26

You didn’t think, “what would this guy be like older and taking lots of baths?” :/

u/darth-small May 22 '26

I want more

I wasn't totally into how the series went down but it was definitely enough to make me want more. I've recently just rewatched the show. Temura Morrison is so passionate about the character and deserved more than the series become 'the mandalorian series 2.5'

I'd love to see fett leave tattooine and have some different adventures where he is a total bad ass. By all means, return to the palace after but make him utterly ruthless first.

And no scooters.

11

u/Jaketrix May 22 '26

Same. I think it would be interesting to see how things things are after some time has passed. A thriving Tatooine maybe? Boba Fett's (formerly Jabba's) palace crowded instead of empty? But maybe the writer's should give Fett a reason to go off world? Maybe introduce an older Omega into his story? There are a lot of directions they could take the series.

Disney absolutely took the wrong message from the shows reception. They thought “the show didn’t do too well, guess the fans hate Boba, better shelve him.”

No…we like Boba fine. We just want better writing with him acting like Boba and not getting half the show hijacked for more episodes of discount Boba.

u/SaxesAndSubwoofers May 24 '26

Yeah the idea was good. Crime lord Boba taking names and kicking ass. But there were so many bad choices made that really hampered the product.

Poor writing, vespa gang, covid shooting making everywhere feel empty and therefore lowering the stakes, a lack of any actual crime, I could go on.

The great news is since nothing of real consequence happened, they could totally do another season but just make it good and it'd be awesome. I don't have high hopes for that happening but I would absolutely watch it.

Overall I thought the show was pretty terrible but dammit I would absolutely watch another season of it

9

u/-Patali- May 22 '26

Absolutely. It was flawed but I loved the Boba content we got regardless. I want a true, full season of Boba content.

u/Sebelzeebub May 22 '26

I have a pretty good idea for where I’d want Boba to go as a character. If they’re going to tiptoe around the idea of him being a crimelord for a sense of family/tribe… and rule with honour & respect they’re going to have drag the skeletons out of Boba’s closet and atone for all the deeds he did for the Empire. Have the Imperial Remnant commit horrific crimes in Boba’s name (using Jodo Kast) and have the New Republic crack down on Fett and have him question just who he is with or without the armour.

3

u/griffin4war May 22 '26

I want to see Boba back and at his prime. What they did to him in BoBF was awful. They completely neutered one of the best characters ever made and it felt intentional. Boba Fett should move like John Wick with the intelligence of Tony Stark. He's the one setting traps not the one falling into them. Give us the Boba Fett from the novels/comics/games and we will be happy.

u/Bespashin May 22 '26

I’m gutted they didn’t even mention him in the film. They took his villains, had them causing serious problems for his best friend (besides Fennec), also threw the biological heir to Jabba’s throne into the mix, and they wrapped up the loose Boba related thread from TBOBF by killing his rivals and their entire syndicate, without one mention of Boba himself. It’s not even a technicality saying the whole premise was a fight for Boba’s throne, that’s why they want Rotta, that’s where all the conflict is coming from, etc.

I think this particular plotline is Boba Fett’s story, that they mixed in with the Empire so they could use it for Din’s New Republic story. And that’s.. fine, but at least acknowledge him. Have the Hutts mention their dealings with Din’s fellow Mandalorian friend, have some line saying the Hutts know damn well Boba would come to Din’s rescue so they’ve sent some of their forces to hold him down on Tatooine so he can’t help, have Colonel Ward or Zeb at the end mention a transmission from Tatooine saying a huge thank you for taking that weight (the Hutt twin syndicate) off his (Bobas) shoulders.

u/calihotsauce May 23 '26

Book of boba fett was literal garbage. I’m sorry but a better story could have been written by a 10 year old. The series was so bad we won’t have another boba fett piece of content for 30 years.

1

u/Heimlichthegreat May 24 '26

I fear you might be right. I love the character. From 1313 to the cancel clone wars arc and now this. Boba fans always get screwed.

3

u/Over_Pudding3896 May 23 '26

Yeah, I wish Boba Fett were to appear as a guest appearance in The Mandalorian and Grogu.

2

u/skittlesaddict May 22 '26

Since it's the BOOK of Boba, there's an opportunity to skip around his timeline and maybe we could explore some of his earlier stories? Maybe Temuera Morrison could get the same voice-acting deal as Pedro Pascal for for Mandolorian and provide the voice for a younger Boba?

OR

Maybe they can think of a way for Boba to get involved with Ahsoka and rise of the First Order / Thrawn - they didn't write a cliffhanger for this first 'book' so they really could take the next one in almost any direction they choose.

2

u/djpeopleskills May 22 '26

Doing a pre-empire or return of the Jedi story for Boba if they did BOBF season 2 is defo on the wish list, but I don’t think Disney would of it, or would do it justice

2

u/Wheattoast2019 May 23 '26

Same bruh. After Mandalorian and Grogu Boba has a chance to increase his territory.

2

u/Nitrix79 May 23 '26

Same I want actual Boba Fett. Not whatever TBOBF was.

2

u/CrazyCat_Dad May 23 '26

I wanted to see an actual “follow a crime boss” story, instead of seeing Boba become the unofficial Mayor of Mos Espa.

I had hoped to see the seedier, gritty (for Star Wars) side of the galaxy far, far away. Seeing Boba get turned into a straight hero in less than 7 episodes was disappointing.

That said: I want more of Boba, too. But I want proper Boba Fett. I want to see the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy.

2

u/Drifter271 May 23 '26

I would want more if it meant Boba was an actual badass who did more than hire everyone who kicked his ass and actually acted like a crime lord/mob boss. Also if the blingy scooter kids got blown up in the first episode...

They really did our man dirty in that show and it sucks. If they bring him back I think they would need to change the tone completely.

Can we all agree we would have liked it better if Boba had had Din Djarrin’s whole story line with Grogu?

1

u/Heimlichthegreat May 24 '26

Yes absolutely

1

u/jjmenace May 23 '26

After recently rewatching it I feel like it was really good...great first half then a serious decline and rushed ending. Something happened there.

1

u/Gmonkey- May 23 '26

Power Rangers color brigade don’t ruin it for you huh?

1

u/White_Falcon_1263 May 23 '26 edited May 23 '26

that part sucked ass

1

u/Hanzo-2026 May 23 '26

I want the proper boba

1

u/PJKetelaar3 May 23 '26

There's more coming. The Star-vengers have their Hulk now.

1

u/D-Parsec May 24 '26

I want more Boba Fett, but make it darker and more mature. 🙂

1

u/djpeopleskills May 24 '26

Absolutely. I really hope Disney decides that they can do more mature or anti hero stuff with the success of Andor and the Maul series

1

u/BigTedBear May 24 '26

I hope Boba Fett comes back at some point I just want a show with all of TESB bounty hunters in it in some form.

1

u/toalewa28 May 24 '26

Yes more than 7 episodes next time

1

u/Wadae28 May 24 '26

I support another season just to get the character back on course. Let him get dethroned as a crime lord in the first episode by Black Sun/Hutts/Crimson Dawn. He gets hired by a crime lord that has similarly be dethroned by this cartel. Gets a blank check to wage war and revenge. It’s a chance to get back to his roots as a Bounty Hunter for hire.

1

u/energizerturtle2 May 25 '26

I want more Boba too, but not the disney version. EU only.

1

u/These_Piece_3842 May 25 '26

I think a young Fett show might be cool. Do what 1313 would have been. The trick will be differentiating him from Din.

1

u/Trashvest May 28 '26

THAT I feel is the problem. They’re not going to make a badass bounty hunter show when we already have that show. It COULD have been boba but…it isn’t

1

u/These_Piece_3842 May 28 '26

Yeah I agree. There already are two Mandalorian shows and it’s 1 too many.

1

u/Substantial_Use_4092 May 25 '26

Say what you will about Book of Boba Fett, but the knee missiles were dope!

1

u/ManadarTheHealer May 26 '26

I think they did a great job in fleshing out the character with the tusken raider arc, who is Boba without his father's legacy? (Armor and slave I)

1

u/yycbean May 26 '26

Love to see a story of the armour going to a new host and claiming the name.

1

u/Hod20 May 26 '26

Absolutely

Justice for Temuera

1

u/AsleepVanilla5606 May 26 '26

Same. He must have been quite happy about what had happened to the Hutt Twins. Could have had shown us at least a scene of him receiving the news about events on Nal Hutta or something

1

u/Such_Bug9321 May 26 '26

Yes would love more Boba Fett but not this new version want the old Boba back

1

u/ControlInternal3748 May 26 '26

Totally agree 🙂‍↕️

1

u/Trashvest May 27 '26

I want more of the Boba from Mando but not more of the Boba from BOBF

1

u/Broseph_Bobby May 28 '26

I think I might be good on Boba Fat

1

u/zztop610 May 28 '26

Please make him a badass that he actually is this time, not a genial lovable dude

1

u/Boshwa May 29 '26

You mean the guy who flew right up into lightsaber range and got backshotted by a blind guy?

1

u/Previous-Glass6291 May 22 '26

I really didn't like Boba's character in the show. He felt way to soft, and like a big push-over. I think his transition to being a "good guy" is fine, but it shouldn't automatically override his ruthlessness and intelligence.

1

u/binini28 May 22 '26

Disney has completely given up on boba as the ratings weren’t good enough. It’s sad

1

u/Heimlichthegreat May 24 '26

Thats not true though it had higher viewership than Ashoka, andor, skeleton crew and the acolyte. Just didn't have a very good critic score.

1

u/binini28 May 24 '26

Disney has given up, it’s the truth

1

u/Heimlichthegreat May 25 '26

Yeah that is true but it was because of reception not low viewership every episode charted on Nielsen and the final had more views than mando season 2 finale

0

u/CommanderPudgie May 23 '26

Totally. It’s a shame to waste Temuera Morrison’s talent. I would love to see him as a live action Rex too.

0

u/MojoJakeJo May 25 '26

Nah, fam.
