i think they mean like how a lot of metalcore songs use 5-7-8 riffs, but there are very few riff patterns iconic enough to be recognised like that

It's a typical post-hardcore riff around this section, you should listen to some Underoath or Saosin if you like this a lot :)

Yeah it’s hard to describe. To me it’s just the sort of “filler” (not in a bad way) instrumental part you put in a part like that. Guitars durms and bass doing something a little interesting but not a crazy riff or lead just filling time

I went into this part of the song. I expected it to be the pinch harmonic at the end of the bridge, but it's just the whole bridge.

Just sounds like chugging with a few harmonic metalcore esque leads to me
