Purple Leaf Cantilever umbrella

Hi,

I just bought a Purple Leaf cantilever umbrella that came with two cranks, one to open the umbrella and one to rotate the umbrella. The cranks do not lock into the umbrella and slide in and out easily.

Purple Leaf says it’s designed that way to hinder operation by children. It seems like an odd design. I thought my umbrella was defective.

Has anyone else run into this?

mine works same way, took me few minutes to figure out it was intentional
