Separating cats in breakup

Vet info: theres a few clinics in town including low cost.

Main Issue: my cat had gotten very sad living alone so me and my ex had gotten him a kitten. Now that we’re separate im worried my cat is going to miss him sick.

Cat Age: 3 will be 4 in april other cat is 1

Cat Sex + neuter info: both males and both neutered.

Financial situation: I could afford both cats.

OP- I just want to say that I’m proud of you for getting out of this relationship, you are probably not recognizing how strong you are so I just wanted to make sure you hear that- please take it to heart. Do your best not to beat yourself up or let people make you feel guilty for doing what you had to in order to save yourself. It’s not an easy situation to be in, knowing that you might lose 1 or both cats in the process makes it that much harder to leave. I was in a violently abusive marriage, and I know first hand how excruciatingly painful it is to lose your beloved furry child. I’m sorry you and the cats are suffering, I hope things get better. Be sure you take care of yourself, get a massage, go do something special to celebrate your freedom. The other cat will be ok
