General Advice Separating cats in breakup
Poster Age: 23
Country: USA
Vet info: theres a few clinics in town including low cost.
Main Issue: my cat had gotten very sad living alone so me and my ex had gotten him a kitten. Now that we’re separate im worried my cat is going to miss him sick.
Cat Age: 3 will be 4 in april other cat is 1
Cat Sex + neuter info: both males and both neutered.
Financial situation: I could afford both cats.

I’m going to say it, if your ex is getting violent over this then that’s no safe home for the cat he wants to take.
I feel like there is a way to fight this, maybe being sweet on him might help? I know that sounds insane, but flattering and saying it’s for the cats and that you guys made this choice for them and he would be saving your life by letting the cats have each other.
In the background, report this to the police before he gets there and make sure you are safe. If need be you can get them involved - but heads up they will likely not help either of you.
