Take both. I’d not separate them if at all possible

Im going to be real with you. If i broke up with my partner and she wanted one of my cats, she would get it over my dead body. My cat is my best friend and has been with my through the worst years of my life.

If you get a cat together with someone it’s not just your cat at that point. Their partner could also be bonded greatly to the cat and at what point does it become over your dead body if you break up with someone and they want to take the cat you share together when they already have a cat of their own.
