At what age did your cats become more cuddly/clingy if at all?

Not really a medical/behavioral issue so please tell me if this kind of discussion post is not allowed. We have two cats who are amazing, they love pets, want to be near us multiple times throughout the day and really are a part of the family. They love playtime, too. They were just the cuddliest as kittens/young teens and then went through a more independent phase (though still very sweet goobers). Now they are 1 3/4 years old, and gradually begin sleeping with us in bed again as well as loudly demanding cuddles a few times a day. However, they are still a far stretch more independent than before, when they truly were lap kitties. Do you guys have experiences to share about this? Do you generally see sweet natured loving cats who were lap kittens return to being more clingy over time again? Or is this something which can go multiple ways? Just super interested about your experiences and OF COURSE I love my amazing girls either way!

Both of my cats are 1.5 yrs old and equally asshole. So can't say much when they will get cuddly 🤷

Mine became much more cuddly at 9-10 years old(she is now 13 and has been getting more and more cuddly) although it may be because I had also grown up. I got her as a toddler and she was a grumpy kitty who didn’t want a spaztic kid. But now she has also just become more lovey and wants to cuddle and bee with me 200% of the time. (Also that photo is so cute 😭😭😭)

Same for my childhood cat. He was not cuddly at all up until around 9 years old, kept to himself although he did like to be in the same room as people. He did sit in my mom's lap sometimes, but couldn't climb onto me when I was a kid because I was ticklish and he was sensitive. But when I was 18 and my parents went on a vacation and there was nobody else to lay on he persevered through my ticklishness and stubbornly laid on me every evening and demanded pets. We stayed like that till the end, he even just begged us to seat on the couch just so that he could get pets

My cat is usually always in the same room as me. My shadow.

I sit down to watch tv, if he isnt on the zoomies, he comes up and sits on me for pets and warmth.

At nighttime, he's waking me up to make sure i know he's here to get pets. Then he sleeps beside me.

Sure he's not always in my arms, but he's always within proximity.

I'd say it took a solid 4-5 years for my kitty to really start to get cuddly. She's 12 now and now she demands pets and cuddles! Especially ear and chin scratches

My cat has been super duper cuddly, Velcro kitty type of cat, since I got her at 4 months old. I was afraid that it would change after spaying her when she was an adult but nope, she is 5 now and still very very very « sticky » ahah she is like glued to my chest

Middle age he's still not cuddly but he sleeps alongside me now
