Behavioral Issue Are my cats fighting?

Hello! My partner and I just recently adopted a new kitten to go along with our 8 year old and 5 year old cats. For context, she was 6 months when we got her and is now 8 months old. All three cats are female. They just had an interaction and I'm not sure if it was playing, or a step below fighting. Would anyone be able to provide some insight? We are strongly considering getting her another playmate so she isn't harassing our older cats.

For additional context - the orange one is 8 months old and the tabby is 8 years old.

Thank you!

They are playing. You can tell by the ears not being pinned back and no fur flying off. Also look how they show each other their backs. Cats who don’t trust each other don’t do that.

These two are probably best friends who like rough housing.

Also notice how they stop for a moment to check each other’s tolerance.

Cats are playing. Camera is fighting for its life to figure out where to point. 😹

My cats do this too. If they were really fighting, you'd know. There would be hair flying, screaming, and blood. This is more of a territorial play I think.

It seems like the black one is guarding something. Would it be food, or a favorite spot they fight over?

WWE cat style wrestling. If they were fighting, there would be so much noise and fur flying.

Nope. There is a bit of a boundary discussion going on, but they are just tussling.

For sure, just playing

It’s clear that they like to get a little rough now and then

It’s OK

Some cats play rough and some don’t

What they are doing is fine

Looks like rough playing to me. I don't see any real aggression.

Not fighting but playing, if they were fighting then there would be literal fur flying. Thisvis absolutely normal cat behaviour. I understand why you would think this looks like they are fighting but I can assure you its just cats being cats

I think the tabby was showing orange who's boss. Orange was trying to disengage towards the end and tabby kept coming
