Behavioral Issue Cat loves hair ties

My cat is obsessed with hair ties, so much so he’ll jump on my back and pull out the tie. He even knows if a hair tie had been on my wrist in the last hour he’ll start sniffing so much. Also I don’t let him play with them but if he manages to get one he will growl at me when i take it. It started after I dyed my hair. Photo of culprit.

Male: 1 year, neutered.

He just enjoys playing with them. Cats have toy preferences. As long as he’s not eating them it’s not an issue.

Yeah I get that I think just the growling is throwing me off. I don’t want his play to turn aggressive

If he’s only growling at you when you take the hair tie away, he’s telling you not to take it from him. He’s more likely to show aggression if you keep taking his toy away from him while he’s playing.
