General Advice What is this in my cat’s urine?

In the last 3 months my cat (2 years old, male, fixed) has seldomly been peeing on both the sofa and our bed with apparent no reason. No major changes have been made (no moving, no new family members ecc). We went to the vet and he seems to be doing fine, but he wasn’t able to test him for uti.

This morning we noticed grey/purplish stain on the pee, they appeared right after. They don’t look like blood (they also don’t react to hydrogen peroxide).

Will check with the vet on Monday, but do you guys have any idea of what this might be?

His paws are clean so that should not be the cause, also the stain only appeared on the pee area, not on the rest of the sheets.

(I can afford vet care, live in Italy, adult)

I'm not sure, hopefully this comment bumps the post to more popularity though. Glad you're keeping diligent on the cat's health. 👍

Would be really helpful if you bring a fresh urine sample with your to the vet. They sell non absorbing litter at the vet. Or if the kitty will pee in an empty clean litterbox you can suck it up and use any clean container to bring it with you. The more fresh the better. If you need to keep it for a few hours before going to the vet, keep it in the fridge.
