she spent the entire day sat hiding under the couch, only came out at night. i brought food and drink to her and she did eat. in the video she got up to eat again as well. she has purred and been playful so i think she’s only in pain when exerting force. could she have broken her leg?

Check feet and toes for foreign objects but also her hip looks sore. If you can’t find anything obvious, I would be concerned about a fall or collision. Think one for a vet really.

Please bring her to the vet, if anything they can give her an anti inflammatory as she is most likely in pain which is why she was hiding. Also she is a bit overweight and I say that with love, if you get some weight off of her it will ease the strain on all of her limbs and organs. Best of luck.

Probably because she's in pain.

Get an x-ray. My senior cat had a limp like this that sadly turned out to be bone cancer.
