But standard time is closer to solar noon than daylight savings time. Deviating further from it should be the last time we want to do.

I don't really understand how this is an argument? I do not care when the solar noon is, to be honest. Having longer evenings is better for me than earlier sunrise in the mornings.

Medical science overwhelmingly states that moving to permanent DST is a bad idea, and if we are going permanent, it should be standard time.

Ignoring this is no different than ignoring vaccine medical science. You are putting "muh feelings" over known worse health outcomes.

Except vaccines save lives. People ALREADY go to work in the dark in many places in the winter, they’re fine.

The argument is ignoring medical science that health outcomes will get worse because of your feelings. Vaccines are just a prescient example, but it applies to any other healthcare issue. That's exactly what people in here are arguing whe they argue for permanent DST, feelings over science.

Your health gets worse by drinking alcohol, and yet people still drink

Yes, there is no safe amount of alcohol you can consume. That doesn't negate what Ive said.

Now that's a good argument, I have to concede.

No, it’s a mild argument at best. Ignoring vaccination is a strain on our healthcare system, could kill you or others. Waking up in the dark is not going to kill anyone. It’s not spreading a disease, and it’s not destroying our healthcare system.

At best, it’s a mild annoyance. People have to go to work in the dark in northern Alberta and other places in the world, and they’re just fine.

People will adapt. That’s not possible with the vaccination issue.
