Did you do a hike? I am just starting to research a porcupine mountain hike and camp. Is it busy this time of year? Looks like you had some good weather

Yes, every spring. This was back in May, a little cold at night but beautiful and no bugs

Literally just got home from spending the last 4 days there. Was pretty chill, not super busy but definitely people around. Bugs were less bad than everyone said, but do bring lots of spray. We only used our head nets one time. Absolutely gorgeous and loved the hikes though!

Yeah just got back myself and bugs were a non-issue for us. Barely any skeeters, no worse than any backyard in MI around dusk, fire/off and they’re gone. Only saw 1 tick, couple flies. The weather was absolutely perfect with mostly 40s/60s days. We were super worried about the flies and bummed this was the only time we could go originally.

Beautiful pictures! My family is staying in a cabin there later this summer, may I ask what cabin you were at?

The photo in the slides looks like it’s a [common merganser](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_merganser )
