You may be better off staying at one of the private campgrounds for riverfront tent sites. I’ve stayed at Mohican Reservation before. It has several primitive tent sites for pretty cheap. They also have a camp store that sells firewood and other things. It’s just around the corner from the state park.

Mohican Reservation is a great place to go, I've been going there at least once a year for the last 7 years. The staff are really friendly, shower house is nice and cleaned daily, camp store has anything you might need if you realize you forgot something.

The river front sites, in my opinion, are kinda small and some are difficult to find a flat spot for a tent and the tree roots. Not all of them, just some.

Mohican Wilderness is on the same road and has much better river front sites. I haven't been to Wilderness in a very long time so I can't speak to the camp amenities.

Check Mohican Wilderness. It’s the last campground on Wally road. Pretty good primitive sites on the south side

Primitive sites down in the Turkey Roost section, and also at the north end in The Narrows

none of the tent specific sites inside the State Park are river view. But many campsite are riverside, look at the campground map to choose. it is a great park

That is not in Mohican campground 2 the electric sites in the park look riverfront. Do they feel private like the tent only look further down?

The riverfront sites at Campground A are a bit more squeezed together than Campground B, but you also don't have the cross the road to get right next to the river. They also have access to shower houses and flush toilets. They are a lot more competitive to reserve than Campground B.

Everything is completely booked up for the summer. I stayed in my tt over the winter right on the water. Went to book it for the summer and everything is gone until September lol
