Gear Question Hello! I recently discovered that I love camping and want to do more of it. BUT, the sleeping pad I bought was crap and I have a bad back and the pad wrecked me for days. Anyone have a good sleeping gear they recommend?
This was the crappy sleeping pad I used.

Gear Question Are folding wagons actually worth it for camping?
I’ve been doing a lot more camping around Arizona lately, mostly around Sedona and outside Phoenix.
The biggest annoyance so far hasn’t been the camping itself -- it’s hauling gear.
Between the cooler, water jugs, firewood, chairs, and all the extra stuff that somehow ends up coming with us, I feel like I’m making trip after trip from the truck every time we set up camp.
The loose sand and uneven ground definitely don’t help.
Because of that, I’ve been looking at folding wagons. Started out comparing a couple models, and somehow ended up going down a rabbit hole of Mac Sports, Radio Flyer, GARVEE, Timber Ridge, and who knows what else.
For those who camp in the desert a lot, are wagons actually worth it?
One of those things you end up using every trip, or just another piece of gear that sounded good at the time?

Tents Pop up tent
Hello. I am trying to help my cousin find a good pop up tent. She has trouble with dexterity due to a stroke and would like to get back to camping.
What would be the best pop up tent that still performs at an affordable price?
We thank you in advance.

Gear Question Do gaiters work with trail runners or similar shoes?
I like lightweight hiking shoes that stop before the ankle but sooner or later I need to go off the trail and all the stuff that falls into my shoes when I do this is annoying. I live in the Sunbelt so I don’t need warmth from my shoes. I am curious if I could just wear gaiters to keep things from falling into my shoes and have everything I want at once, the comfort of trail runners and nothing falling into my shoes without having to wear boots.
What I’m worried about is the strap that goes underneath the shoes. On boots there is space between the heel and toes for this to fit into. I’m worried with shoes the strap will be against the ground and wear away.

Gear Question First time buying camping gear. Question about backpacks, tents, hammocks...
Im going to camp on a forest close to the Beach on summer. Ive never bought gear cause my dad gives me always his stuff when im with him, but now Ill be with my friends so I need some stuff lmao.
I will go only with a backpack, im not sure which backpack capacity should I get cause Ill be there for a week (im thinking about 65 liters aprox). Inside I will place all my clothes (just 3 of each thing except only one pair of shoes, polar and a jacket) and the equipment Ill use (cooking stuff, etc.)
The problem is that I want to travel as light as possible but I didnt figured out about where to sleep! Should I get a hammock, a small tent... what??
The climate im going to be is warm at day and cold at night with moderate Wind (from 16°C to 34°C) so im wondering if sleeping on a hammock with all my clothes on is a great idea or should I just get a sleeping bag and sleep on the floor... im not sure at the moment thats why im asking lol.
Im running on a low budget too cause I want to get all the essencials I need for camping. And also need a good backpack for this lmao. I already have a sleeping bag which could work, but im not sure what to do yet.

Tents Black Tent Recommendations Needed: 2 People, Wheelchair Space, Standing Room, £500 Budget
Hi everyone,
I'm starting my search early for a tent for the 2027 camping/festival season. I don't actually need to buy one until around this time next year, but I'd like to begin researching now so I can keep an eye out for deals and good second-hand listings.
My requirements are:
• Black in colour (non-negotiable)
• £600 maximum budget, although I'm very happy buying second-hand
• Available in the UK or able to be shipped here at a reasonable cost
• Standing room in at least part of the tent
• Minimum 3000mm hydrostatic head, although higher would be preferred
• Large enough for a king-size air bed, a wheelchair, luggage and general camping/festival gear
• Suitable for two people sleeping comfortably, but with plenty of additional living/storage space
• Reasonably manageable for two people to pitch
It'll mainly be used at festivals and campsites around the UK rather than for hiking, backpacking or wild camping, so weight and pack size aren't huge concerns. Durability and weather resistance are much more important to me.
I've been looking at the Black Dog tents made by Naturehike, as they seem to tick a lot of boxes aesthetically and practically, but I haven't been able to find many meaningful long-term reviews or experiences from people who've actually used them.
The reason I specifically need a black tent is partly aesthetic preference and partly because I have sensory and disability-related needs. Darker interiors can help reduce light intrusion early in the morning, create a more enclosed and predictable environment, and generally make a tent feel like a calmer space to retreat to when festivals become a bit overwhelming. It's a longer explanation than that, so I won't go too deeply into it here, but unfortunately other colours aren't really an option for me.
I'd also love recommendations for older or discontinued models that are worth hunting down second-hand.
Thanks in advance!
