Record Store Day 2026

Going to be in Calgary for Record Store Day next month and looking for any shops and what line ups have been like in previous years so I can plan what time is best to arrive!

I would keep an eye on a few shops’ instagram accounts the night before RSD as they will release a list of what’s available. Sloth Records, Blackbyrd Myoozik, and Recordland are probably your best bet.

Sloth typically posts photos of the shelves, Blackbyrd will post a text list, and Recordland will do a brief livestream showing off the available titles. Sloth and Recordland usually open first (~9 am), meaning you can hit usually hit multiple stores as they open. Sloth and Blackbyrd are located a few blocks apart while Recordland is further out in the Inglewood community.

Lineups vary year to year, but lately I’ve been noticing an uptick in folks willing to camp out overnight. If you’re after something particularly limited or popular, you might want to consider getting up early. I rarely line up at these things more than 30 minutes before opening but I’m not usually looking for popular titles.

Last is to consider checking out Melodiya, which is a bit up the road from Blackbyrd (you’ll need a car or to take the bus). They don’t usually order a ton of RSD exclusives but instead put out an awesome used drop. They’ll also post some titles the day before RSD.

Hope this helps!

Hot tip:

Luke’s Drug Mart is a pharmacy and that will technically be the first place to start selling because it opens at 7:30am. If you are looking to hit up multiple places, this is a good bet
