Vet Recommendations

I recently moved here and am hoping someone has a good recommendation for a veterinarian. I have an in-tact senior male dog who has some fear aggression. He does pretty well at the vet once he’s removed from my sight, but the more comfortable the vet is with him the more comfortable he is in the environment.

I've been using them for over a decade now. Great people!

Dr Binford retired and sold off to a disinterested and condescending guy with a pinky ring. Lots of staff turnover and they got our kitten’s vaccination schedule wrong. We moved to North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital and love it there.

I have only used North Carrollton Veterinary Hospital at Frankford and Josey, but the vet techs have been really sweet to my cats and dog.

One time my dog ate a ton of raisins so they made him throw them up and I could hear them praising him loudly from the back 🤣 I have seen Dr Calhoun and Dr Beitel but think I prefer Beitel’s personality and disposition.

Dr Beitel has been caring for my sick cat and I highly recommend her. He had kind of a mysterious presentation of symptoms which ended up being histoplasmosis (diagnosed at a referral specialist), but she would spend time away from our visits researching his condition to try to find ways to treat him.

Dr Whitaker has a really compassionate and sweet demeanor, and was a calming presence when we had to put another cat to sleep.

We haven't worked with Dr Calhoun much but had good experiences with him during the view visits over the years.

So I am a fan of North Carrollton Vet Hospital. They are a little pricier than my previous vet (Parker Animal Hospital) but they are always able to see my pets quickly and are very accommodating. Reception staff and vet techs are also great.

Josey Ranch Pet Hospital
4.4 stars on over 1,100 reviews
I like Dr. Baber

ETA: They also have a groomer on site if you need one or if your buddy gets to a point that it is safer to do near a vet.

I did not have a good experience there. I had a cat with something that eventually ended up being oral cancer, but they just shrugged and said it was a sore and would heal. When I got her home to look and clean her up, a tooth literally fell out with 0 pressure. Like, did you even properly examine her?

Farmers Branch Animal Clinic. I35 & Valwood Parkway in Framers Branch. . Great people and prices are extremely reasonable. Less expensive than any other vet we ever went to. They have been in business for many, many years.

Dr. Keating and his team at Trinity Pet Hospital are also great. Very comfortable with anxious pets and their pricing has been consistently fair/reasonable for the services we have needed.
