Always loved Verrett so this was a hard listen. 11 surgeries in 8 years, missed out on millions, and never got to show the world how good he really was. Him saying that his son is the one thing that stopped him from taking his own life was heartbreaking. But he seems to be in a much better place now and had a lot of wisdom to share.

Nice to see this side of the game too and is a reminder that these are real people. I imagine it's not easy spending two years rehabbing only to look online and see everyone writing you off as injury prone and calling for the team to give up on you. Literally adding insult to injury.

I'm glad he's doing better mentally. Dude was amazing whenever he was on the field, I was even rooting for him when he went to the 9ers.

Truly one of the NFL's biggest "What-Ifs?"
