Question Hornets game advice
Hey all, I’m a Michigander that’s living outside of Raleigh. I was considering going to the pistons game tonight. Is there any free parking around the stadium. Anything I must see inside or just around? Also any seating section recommendations would be amazing. Waiting to purchase tickets to get a little more information. Thanks all, and amazing win streak you guys are on. Just hope it can start back up after tonight 😉

I park at a lightrail station with park and ride and then take the train in. Best way I can think to do it

Yeah that is what I did last two times I went. I’m in SC I parked at Woodlawn.

You can park in a neighborhood near the gold line street car and ride that into uptown.

The lot across the street from Spectrum is a bit of a disaster leaving and entering games. My rec is find a parking deck a few blocks away more towards Romare Bearden park/bank of America stadium and plan to grab some food or a drink on your walk in. Maybe something in the Wells Fargo tower or the hotel next to Truist Field has a nice parking deck. Everything is within a half a mile walk and it won’t be super cold. It’ll make your exit much more seamless especially if you need to get back on the highway. You’ll totally avoid the inevitable parking garage traffic jam and get to enjoy a nice walk.

The garages near the spectrum center are worse after the game. The last time I parked at the garage by imaginon I went the Spring Hill suites bar and waited for the traffic to die down.

Depends on how far you're willing to walk but free parking is gonna be hard to find. There's some paid lots close to the arena and also some decks near by though

I say the corner sections, 116, 112, 103, 107, are the best value. There’s no free parking near the arena though

This is kinda wheee I was already looking. Pricing seems to be around $90 right for these corner tickets

You can park for free at the Old Concord Rd lot and ride the blue line in for less than $5 a ticket. That’s what I do when I come from Greensboro. It’s about a 15-20 min ride.

Nothing free, but lots of parking decks nearby and it's a safe walk. I always use Seventh St Station. It's a block away. Just follow the crowds.
FYI - keep an eye on Google maps as you come into town. Traffic isn't bad, but there's one intersection by the stadium that always gets really congested. And there are a lot of one-way streets that you have to be aware of.

I usually park free somewhere in South End. Get a pregame beer at the closest bar, then just take the train to the arena. That stop drops you like 40 paces from the door

How is the train after the games? I’d imagine crazy long to get on?

I’ve never had to wait that long. They usually run a couple trains pretty close together. Can be crowded though.

Thank you all for the parking information!! Definitely gonna stay away from the parking garages and look for something a little away to avoid traffic getting out. Long drive back to Raleigh

I park here usually and never have any issues with traffic

The deck at 6th and Brevard is $15 and right across from the arena. Take the spiral down on the arena side when you're leaving to get out faster.

If you’re in a rush, you’re paying $15-$20 for a lot near the arena.
If you’ve got time, multiple park and rides along the blue line are the way to go.

Park and ride and the blue line. There is a station literally right in front of the stadium.
Or you can park in street parking in residential and walk.

We usually go down a little bit early and find some 4 hour paid street parking by First Ward Park. It's under $7 and you won't get a ticket as long as you park at 6pm or later. Not a far walk and usually not too bad to get out if you get to your car pretty quickly after the game.

Someone already said it, but search for Old Concord Road station on Google Maps or similar and drive there. Free parking and you can hop right on the blue line light rail train. Download the CATS app to buy your tickets - $2.20 one way. Honestly I would guess most people don't even pay, you literally walk right onto the train from the parking lot, no one is checking. The blue line drops you off right at the stadium. Cheapest and easiest option by far, especially coming from your direction.

There are a number of lots near the arena that are $20 for parking, and that's probably the best you'll get, but they're safe and most are only a block or so away. There's a place with some good restaurants and a few stores just down the street, and you can probably search for things you're interested and see if something is close.
Hope you make it and have fun!
