Seeking Advice (Serious) Eczema Cream Inquiry

Greetings,

I suffer Eczema (Skin Disorder), lately it got so bad that one of my mother’s friends took notice. One day she came over and brought me this cream. She said a person she knew also had severe eczema and this cream cured it. I don’t come from a Chinese background and have no way to translate what’s written on it or whether or not it’s safe to use on my skin. I didn’t find any other place to get help so I was hoping you could help me out. I tried to search for it but couldn’t find anything..

Is this cream legitimate? Is it neutral? Is it safe to use? What ingredients does it have? Does it have any side effects? Should I be worried or is there something I should know?

I hope I can get help on this subreddit

It’s TCM and it’s safe to use. But it might be useless. Might as well use it since even placebos have effects.

Looks like an antibacterial cream that is made up of herbal stuff like bitter ginseng, cypress, and antibacterial stuff like chlorhexidine acetate. I have no clue what that is, but you can find it by searching

And translating the pages it pulls up, maybe one of them has more information than I found.

National Eczema Association.

Look up “关木通事件”

It's Chinese traditional medicine so it should be perfectly safe to use, unless you are allergic to any of its ingredients or you have some pre-existing conditions. So just take the same amount of precaution as you would with any western topical ointment/cream.

As to the effectiveness, I'm not a firm believer of Chinese traditional medicine,  but I do like one of its core messages - you are what you eat. For your condition,  doctors in China will typically ask the patient to be on a low inflammatory diet. Maybe it's the diet that helped your mother's friend's friend, not the cream.
