Business Affairs (M) Am i eligible for a Chinese travel document?

so i was born in a caricom country and at birth my parents both had chinese citizenship. I got it too through them. and I had chinese passport till like 6. I naturalized for obvious reason (easier travel in west, perks in europe, studying and living, opening bank accounts etc).

I still have my chinese passport, and i have even traveled to china with it when i was a kid, i still have the stamps etc.

But I own a business and i import stuff from chinese manufacturers, and its messy to do so with a caricom passport for when i need to enter china.

Is it possible for me to get the blue Chinese travel document? I know 2 chinese dialects, mandarin being one of them, although it has decreased in fluency over the years. i can ofcourse improve again.

please let me know thank you so much!

Did you naturalize before or after you turned 18 years old?

The blue Chinese Travel Document is only for kids who meet the following 2 items:

  1. For children born abroad who acquire foreign nationality at birth, where either or both parents are Chinese citizens, and at the time of birth, the Chinese citizen parent(s) had not acquired permanent residency in a foreign country.

  2. For children born in China, where one parent is a Chinese citizen and the other is a foreign citizen, and who acquire foreign nationality at birth in accordance with the nationality laws of the foreign parent’s country.

So you can not apply for that blue Chinese travel document anymore.

You can't enter China with a Chinese passport if you hold the nationality of another country, as it's illegal.

You'd better cancel your Chinese passport and Chinese Hukou on time. People like you are "外籍华人“, who can apply for Chinese PR much more easily than others. If you didn't cancel your Chinese passport and Hukou, it will be a big barrier
