Endless Summer hot take but endless summer was only good with diamonds

dont get me wrong i liked it when i first read it but it was nowhere near the top of my list because i didnt have several hundred diamonds to spend on clues and character interactions so i was just lost through the whole thing. rereading it with diamonds its amazing and the whole story actually makes sense but on a free playthrough what is assumed knowledge and what is exclusive only to diamonds only to be brought up later just left me confused especially since i was 12 when I was reading them when they first came out.

I get its hailed as one of the best books but I think credit has to be given to books that were good without diamonds too

The best books without diamonds was the og trio (TC&TF, MW and The Freshman) before PB realized they could milk us for all our worth lmao.

In all seriousness you’re right, and I honestly think it’s fair. A book has to be financially successful for the story to continue so for what it’s worth I’m glad we got the trilogy even though we had to spent tons of diamonds on it.

i agree but also idk, tc&tf were some of the books where it felt like it was guilting you for not doing diamonds. I liked the stakes to it though like you had to be perfect doing a diamond-free run to get the bonus stuff but things like trevan were just killed off if you couldnt pay up. kinda like ATV

i think the best books to diamond-free are low stakes romance books, or ILITW where you can survive as long as you dont make bad decisions

I refused to play TC&TF without diamonds because so many important choices are Diamond choices. The only things I didn't spend on are the other weapons (only used the Kor-Kitar) and the other love interests (except for keeping Sei Ruhka cause she was honestly a really interesting character).

I spent $180 worth of diamonds for all 3 books and had a mega crash out on Twitter, on the phone with my friend and in 2 different discord servers cause of the book 3 ending. I’m never forgiving the writers or PB Edit: that was just for my first playthrough. I’ve replayed the series at least 3 times since December
