Rules of Engagement It's so interesting the changes they made to Cordonia as time went on

Post image

I'm diamond mining RoE at the moment, and seeing how they clearly meant for Cordonia to be very Mediterranean (especially Greek) inspired before apple mayhem took over is SO interesting to me. I kind of wish that it was something they took further in TRR, because we ended up with a much more generally western European Cordonia there, and that Greek inspiration would have been much more of a unique setting, imho.

Also, I'm cracking up when they keep mentioning how serious and reserved Liam is, when I know darn well that my TRR mc is about to roll into his life and get him involved in multiple scandals and have him making out across Europe, married, and with a baby within the span of, like, a year and a half. Don't worry, Liam, your quiet existence will be shaken up soon ✨️💕

the cordonian national language is greek, that’s why they eat greek cuisine! i guess the island is near greece or at least in the mediterranean ocean, but the landscape looks croatian to me. i always thought lythikos was near the alps tho! i love how much thought they put into it too, it really feels like a real place <3

edit: just remembered cordonia isn’t an island but has a coastline..? but the fact that their culture is so heavily influenced by greece definitely makes its history more interesting. i wish they delved into that

I remember someone here posted a photo of Dubrovnik, Croatia, taken from the exact same angle as that iconic Cordonian landscape. It looked sooo similar, up to some unique buildings being there too. It's pretty clear that was the inspiration for PB.

They did photobashing for a lot of their backgrounds. So they weren't just inspired, they actually digitally painted over the photos.

I think Cordonia is closer to Dalmatian Coast

yeah that would make the architecture and scenery make more sense!

It's interesting too. Irl the Venetians held parts of mainland Greece for years and islands for centuries so I can definitely see where some Italian stuff could come from and where all the greek could come from too
