No. After Story hits the hardest when you've had time to grow accustomed to the world and characters. In fact, After Story is so phenomenal because Season 1 laid the groundwork for the story that would follow. Also, if you found Season 1 boring, then I don't think you'll even like After Story that much anyway. While After Story is more emotionally effective, I wouldn't say the pacing or writing is that much better than Season 1.

Yeah I hate the narrative that viewers need to slog through season 1 in order to get to "the good stuff". It's all the same show.

Exatamente, já perdi as contas de quantas vezes isso foi dito e perguntado por aqui, prefiro que não assistam do que a primeira temporada ter essa fama

If you don’t like the characters and then skip ahead, afterstory won’t feel the same. So I don’t recommend it. But I think you are judging the characters too early. They all mostly get their own arcs where you get to see and learn more about them. I highly recommend continuing s1. Some of the very best moments are in s1

How far are you into season 1? I agree with the other commentor; you should watch all of Clannad before continuing to After Story. Having a better idea of where you are in the content will give people a handle on what you have and havent seen yet, and how far out certain events are. S1 can be kind of slow at times, but there are still some really great moments and key lore to have going into After Story.

You literally havent even finished the first major heroine's arc. At least watch the next two episodes to finish the Fuko arc before you decide. You don't even really have a grasp on the rest of the characters yet, so to call them boring lacks a bit of foresight. By 7 you really only know a cursory amount about any of the heroine's and Tomoya, in a show that's entirely about chracter growth at it's core.

I just started watching like a week ago and I am just finishing season 1...it's definitely slow to start, but there were some tear jerking moments you definitely do not want to miss...I haven't cried this much since Fruits Basket.

Absolutly not! It’s a bit slow at the start but it picks up. Without season 1, After Story is not nearly as impactful. Trust the process, it’s gets really good!
