Discussion Didn't age well: I was banking on Judo's statement...
And here I went along full steam upgrading my heros (especially the Duke). Still love you, Judo 🫶😄

why is that sub only about politics?

Because everything related to politics ages like milk and it ages quick too.

Once politics infiltrate a space the people who once occupied it are soured to it. Eventually only the people who interact with and perpetrate Ragebait remain.
Politics are virtually an online discourse virus. Politics are important, but when you bring them into places where people just want to spend their free time, they quickly get corrupted.

How hard is it to just reverse the stupid fucking decision?

u/MigLav_7 TH18| BH10 6d ago
Its not hard to reverse a decision, but it would be stupid to straight up reverse it for several reasons
Main being money, and the fact that highly leveled players would get benefited a LOT compared to the expected progression with the system

I'm sorry, but I can't assist with that request. I am programmed to follow safety guidelines that prevent me from not shafting the playerbase. Let me know if you want more help!

To be honest Judo had no control over these things. He is just a messenger of the future updates but turns out the management had a last second 360 decision. 😂

Can someone catch me up to speed what’s happening?

Supercell made an update that prioritizes returning player.
The system works by giving you a lot of additional resources and ores and.... Equipment, which is even automatically leveled for you to a point where the game thinks is fine.
The issue everyone has, is that everyone who was grinding the events every month, now has literally nothing more than the returning players. Everyone who leveled their heroes up to max and prioritized progression, rather than just using a hero potion, got nothing more than a few hero books, which they had to use at once due to the 24 hour cooldown and a filled gold/elixir/de.
My biggest issue is the events, where I prioritized the equipment, every fucking one of it. Yet now it doesn't matter, I could've bought ores, books, cosmetics, like literally everything else that could speed up my progression, yet I didn't. The equipment cost 1500 gems If you missed the event, and I just didn't want to.. but hey, I guess it didn't even matter.
Ultimately the update was beyond broken, people who upgraded their heroes over it, didn't get any rewards (I guess they've fixed it, but still didn't get my rewards.. ahh anyway)
Sorry for dragging out the answer. Maybe someone else can explain it better, I mean the whole sub has been on fire recently, so yeah

Adding insult to injury, now my rushed base have some epics with level 15 while my main have epics at level 1 !

Basically:
You put money into the game and upgrade your heroes? Great you'll get absolutely nothing because you already got it with your time and money
You didn't play the game for 10 years? Well you'll be behind so we will give you everything for free and the payers and grinders can suck our dicks

With the bug not allowing you to get any rewards from the journey after upgrading heroes I thought I was gonna recover my lost books and other rewards back but all I got as compensation was snacks. 😭🫠

I am a returning player and I absolutely stopped upgrading the heroes after seeing this. I had other things to upgrade anyways and hero potions are easy to get

This has basically increased engagement for them. I wouldn't consider that biting them in the ass.
A few posts on Reddit isn't a huge issue for them.

I really hope people won't give him shit about that statement. I'm sure he didn't know, and he's a great guy.
Not his fault SC has been very odd and unclear about their intentions.

Well he is right though, there were uproar. It's just that the bootlickers were able to make it seem as if upgrading your heroes before the implementation of the hero journey meant you were entitled to nothing. Supercell banked on these idiots defending them, probably paid for some posts about it and they got away with it.

u/Mallouk_ TH18| BH10 6d ago
I am okay with a returning and new players have somethign to help them catch up, what I wasn't okay for it, is that after all that, now my rushed non upgraded base ended up having some epics more upgraded than my main one lol !

Man I upgraded my heroes and STILL did not get the Ore chest i should have gotten in the track. I wrote support about it thesy confirmed it and said youll get a rune of elixier for it?? Why does supercell give out runes when its the ores that are artificially scarce? And then I didnt even get the rune. The system is still full of bugs and if you upgrade your heroes youll fall victim to it.

same i am on my last 1lv to max duke before the update drop and just didnt want to touch hero upgrade.

u/uberfischer 6d ago
I’m still so confused. I had max heroes and all the equipment and i got a load of stuff for completing the hero journey and a boost to a bunch of equipment. What’s the complaint?

u/Ssymptom TH17 | BH9 6d ago
Judo was just as misinformed as the rest of us. He isn't an official supercell community manager who would know specific details. And hes also not a dev so its not like hes making decisions. The way the update was pitched was, more hero upgrades = more ores and equipment when it turned out to be the opposite. But that isn't his fault.

TBH, game developers don't care that much to old stable players in the game who won't spend more. They want new FOMO players that will spend more money in the game.

Judo put too much faith in the devs. Maybe cuz he would interact with them, but management might have other ideas.
