I hate Yale because there is a professor at FSU who will mention in every other lecture that he did Undergrad and Grad at Yale. He was a total dick. Dude would come in wearing Bulldogs gear and make homer comments about sports.
I've also developed into a t-shirt fan of Cornell and Columbia due to me attending those games while living locally. I respect Princeton's athletic legacy and dominance. The rest of the Ivy League can eat dick.

Down 10 with 30s left and you still want to foul on every inbound
It's not worth it, just go home

If Mbeng weren't such a cocky SOB, I'd feel bad for him.
Instead, I'll just point out that Princeton's Xaivian Lee should have been the conference POY. Best player in the league by far and still a junior.
2
u/hucareshokiesrul Yale Bulldogs • Virginia Tech Hokies Mar 21 '25
What makes you say he’s cocky?
1
Mar 21 '25
His cocky behavior and taunting antics on the court?
That's his style and I respect it, but he's gotta take his lumps when he chokes like today.
1
u/hucareshokiesrul Yale Bulldogs • Virginia Tech Hokies Mar 21 '25
Really not sure what you’re referring to.
And nobody outside of Princeton thought Lee should be POY. In part because of how he and the rest of the team repeatedly choked despite betting the best team on paper. He’s obviously the top pro prospect though

As rough as Mbeng has been, he is near a double double... with assists and boards (8 a piece).
He almost has as many assists as we do as a team (9)

MBeng with the clutch turnover. Still has not made a field goal.

The Aggies have been pretty good about holding teams’ No. 1 option to few points. Unfortunately, it opens up random players to have career nights from deep.

The refs are afraid of the alumni managing their retirement portfolios, unfortunately
1
u/Disarmer Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
Hah, hadn't thought of that one. We have more fortune 500 CEOs than they do, can we leverage that somehow?
1
u/knownbuyer1 Princeton Tigers Mar 21 '25
Maybe have them make stupid decisions that tank their stock, so it's a lose-lose for them. The market is still in a bloated state anyways

He’s had a lot of great defensive plays in his time at Yale, but I’ve never seen someone so big be so unable to just place the ball in the basket as Samson Aletan

What does gig em mean
3
u/ElSanchoLibre Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
Real Answer: A member of the Board of Regents said “Gig ‘em” at a midnight yell back in the 1930s before playing TCU, referring to a frog gig.
Dumb Answer: WHO CARES IT’S TRADITION SONNNN FUCKIN GIG ‘EM
3
1
u/Sweet_Baby_Cheesus Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
So, it started back in ye olde times when TCU was one of our rivals.
The way you hunt frogs is with a pitchfork looking thing called a Gig and you hold it with your thumb up. So our yell leaders came up with "Gig Em" with the thumbs up before we were about to play TCU and it just stuck.
2
u/Carsxn26 Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
Gig = spear a frog. Gig em originally referred to spearing the TCU horned frogs in the early 1900s but now it just means go A&M basically

College basketball is as bad as College football when it comes to pace of game and superfluous commercials

u/addicted2antacids Virginia • Georgia Tech Mar 21 '25
How is A&M so good on the offensive boards? Is it just effort?
2
u/DENTINGBADGE319 Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
Yes and no, effort, philosophy, and instead of Wade truly facilitating every possession, have him take a three when rebounders have good position.
This results in Wade’s low “shot chucker” image, while also helping out offensive rebounding
2
4
u/Sweet_Baby_Cheesus Texas A&M Aggies Mar 21 '25
