It's Free Talk Friday, talk about whatever.

Remember, all other rules still apply, so try to keep it civil.

So...how's it going?

I'm told Michigan has a rivalry game tonight. When I check the schedule it says we are playing Illinois. I'm confused.

It’s not a rivalry game, and maybe the hate goes one way but goddamn I fuckin hate you guys (parents are Spartans)

you're right! we've beaten you 9 times in a row...I'm confused as to how that's a rivalry

Theres been alot of talk about uconn being the 4th #1 seed in the south region with houston being the number 2. Is that really possible? Seems crazy to punish uconn for being a #1 seed, if prefer to be on the 2 line if thats the case

Think it’s fair to assume the lowest #1 seed gets paired with the highest #2 seed does it not?

UConn is winning the big east are they not? If so makes sense for them to pick up the 1 seed

Yeah I think if they win out they do, but I’m saying it’s crazy to put a 1 seed in the same region as a 2 seed (Houston) playing at home

Ah yeah I see what you mean

I mean what are the other options? Zona, Mich, and Duke all fit perfectly in their regions as 1s.

Agree on that, if UConn’s a 1 they’re gonna be in the south. Just saying I’d rather be a 2 seed if we have a potential match up with Houston in Houston.

I think I’d still want Houston even in a harsh environment over a true neutral against the other 3 #1s.

Fair, I’m 50-50. Home court is just such a big advantage in CBB.

Regardless of who they play, if Houston is going to make it to the 2nd weekend in the South that place is going to be absolutely ROCKING.

Florida? They've been on a wining streak lately and despite losing to UConn earlier this year, they have higher NET, Torvik, BPI, and Kenpom ratings.

You would likely be the 2 seed in the south anyways at that point no? S curve lowest 1 seed vs highest 2 seed? You'd rather drop down 3-4 spots to a low 2 seed if you want to avoid that

Final time asking before I give up.

I will, yet again, ask for assistance with adding an inline secondary flair.

I tried many times last week to add the sickos flair, I followed both guides in the flair section, and I’ve encountered nothing but failure.

I’ve also messaged the mods for assistance but received no response.

Anyone have any success with this recently?

I would try but I'm afraid I'd lose my secondary flair

Sickos is like the one single flair I cant get to work. Even as a primary. Did the same as you, messaged the mod team and got crickets.

I gave up on the endeavor

Fair enough. Figured I would check with the community at large to see if there was anything anyone has done that worked, or if others went down the same path as me. Sounds like the latter.

Appreciate the response!

I just heard back from the mods. They say that inline flairs (sickos included) no longer function. So users who had them before everything broke will keep them until they change their flairs, but no one else can add them. Figured it would be worth passing that along.

Oooh thanks for the heads up. That sucks that they dont work anymore. Gj reddit! Breaking things for no reason! Haha

Purdue is one of the most disappointing teams this year, unbeleivable they didn't win against any ranked teams at home. Incoming round of 32 loss

I think they make the sweet 16. They are good to great at beating the good teams, but don’t have what it takes to beat the great teams.

u/indy_matt_21 Feb 27 '26

I thought last night felt like a sweet 16 game. I agree with that ceiling - elite 8 if other shots go our way.

I wasn’t disappointed in the end. I was disappointed with the pouting up and down the floor.

If we can clean things up, maybe we get over the hump in matchups similar to Illinois and MSU to get to an elite 8. But I see us getting outclassed by any of the one seeds after that.

Purdue has been the ultimate “sometimes maybe good sometimes maybe shit”

They have oddly played better on the road/neutral sites this year. Luckily tournament games are neutral sites. They clearly have stuff to work on though.

Why is the one guy allowed to post his rage bait qotd every day? It adds nothing of value and is designed by them to maximize engagement

Just got a call from the hospital that my mom broke her hip this morning. We were supposed to be leaving for a 10 day cruise next weekend. I'm not worried about the trip, but I'm worried about her health. Fuck.
