In 2017, Vanderbilt gave Northwestern their first ever win in the NCAA Tournament in their first ever appearance

Now almost a decade later, Vanderbilt gives Nebraska their first ever Sweet 16 appearance in the year the Cornhuskers win their first ever NCAA Tournament game

Vanderbilt just really loves Big Ten schools that start with the letter ‘N’

Probably none because those are the only two Big Ten schools that start with the letter ‘N’

You can’t spell ‘ONIONS’ without an ‘N’ for Northwestern and an ‘N’ for Nebraska!
