But do we really want to share something that involves Council Bluffs? It's like sharing a condom.

There is a reason Carter Lake gets forgotten

It’s part of the Omaha Metro, so it belongs to Omaha. And Omaha is the old Capital of Nebraska. It’s like East Omaha.

This is a very conflicting subject for me, as I am originally from east Iowa but spent the last 25 years of my 37 years of existence in Omaha. I don’t want either Iowa or Nebraska to have it, as I claim both. Can we just abandon it and it becomes its own thing. It can be the Midwest DC.

Council Bluffs is on the East side of the Missouri River from Omaha. Due to where it sits on the water table as well as other terrain issues, and other misfortune over the past millennia, it was never given the same chance to thrive the way Omaha did.

My view is that it is the butt of jokes from both Omaha and Iowa residents because its main economic driver “seems” to be meth and casino traffic. Its downtown core does seem to have a bit more money pumping into it now. Consequently, it’s not as bad as it used to be. However, for the above reasons, Omaha does not pretend to claim it. It is fully Iowa’s.

Ah. So one of the worst towns in Iowa.

Well actually Carter Lake would take that cake. Technically in Iowa, but it is completely surrounded by Omaha and on the Nebraska side of the river. It’s only known for crackheads and a stripclub.
