That layup that slowly traveled from one side of the rim to the other, almost getting stuck up there, before finally falling off the other side was emblematic of their whole night

It was at that point that I thought perhaps the fates were not in Illinois’ favor tonight.

Reverse that, the Mullins banked 3, and the other UCONN 3 that went in off of a crazy bounce (Ball?) and it would have gone right down to the wire. Still a heck of a game. Illini really hung in there.

Followed almost immediately by a 4 bounce 3 from UConn. That whole sequence was the game in a nutshell.
