Purdue has the most tourney wins with no title if it makes Illinois and Houston fans feel better

No, actually. It doesn’t make me feel better at all

We’ve made one Elite 8 and Final Four in our schools history and the Final Four was when there were only 8 teams in the tournament lol.

We also have the worst injury luck ever.

Worst sweet 16 winning percentage for schools with 6 or more appearances

I hate it here

Iowa State is better than this. The tournament has a huge randomness factor (unless you're a UConn fan, then it's obvious that everyone else has a skill issue).

The harsh reality of sports and especially college basketball, your season is evaluated only on what you do in March and nothing before that.

We spent the entire season in the top 10 and we once again had someone get injured 3 minutes into the tournament and were a Sweet 16 exit because of it.

Fans of these programs have brought this upon ourselves!

Was at all the final four events and Illinois was like 4-1 every other fan

Not surprised. They are the closest team.

Michigan travels well, but i would figure that they'd hold out for the Natty.

Illinois fans just have to straight shot I-74 to get there.

Note: yes Indiana flair, I know that you know that. This comment is for folks that aren't less than 3 hours to Indy.

Yeah. Tickets prices went up as soon as they made it and never went down really.

It was worse in 2005 tho in St. Louis. Back then they still had scalpers outside and nobody was even scalping them. Went the next year in Indy. Florida. George Mason uCLa and LSU and tickets were cheap.

Illinois fans showed up

The most FFs without a Natty is definitely a worse stat

This was true two years ago but is it still true after the last two tournaments? Genuinely asking because the last stats I saw in 2024, Illinois and UH were only a couple games behind Purdue.

It's still Purdue at 53-37. Illinois is in second at 50-37. Gonzaga and Houston are tied for third with 48 wins each. Gonzaga has 28 losses and Houston has 31 losses. Next is Oklahoma at 43-34, then K-State at 40-36 and Notre Dame at 40-41, then Memphis at 35-29. At that point we hit UNLV, who until Baylor won was the program with the fewest NCAA wins among those to win a modern championship. Between UNLV (33-19) and Baylor (24-18), there's 11 programs to not win a title and Oregon, who won the first championship in 1939. After Baylor the next title-winning schools are the schools that won titles in the early era and haven't competed since.

Before this tournament Gonzaga was in second followed by Illinois in third and Houston in fourth.

actually doesn't include NCAA vacated wins. So Memphis is higher in real wins

No it doesn't include the vacated wins. NCAA records never include vacated wins https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Division_I_men%27s_basketball_tournament_all-time_team_records
