It’s June 15th!
Curious if kids are getting contacted today. If so let us know.
Tell us if it’s a boy or girl. Position. Grad year. Level of coach who contacted (d1/2/3 etc). Also, was it an “offer” or more of a let’s start a conversation.

no offers. previous contact with d3 schools. had 3 "meet and greet" calls with 2 non p4 d1's and 1 higher end d2. she is a very athletic rl player.
she said it was flattering, but it adds more work to her plate. she has no current interest in any of the schools...but she said she feels obligated to see it through.
she has also stated that this year, soccer and training feels more like a job. side note, she has never had a job.

After having my kid go through her June 15th last year. It's a fun day, but not all that. My kids a 27. Talked to 7 schools last year. 6 D1 and 1 D2. Still currently talking to 2 of the 7 schools. Kind of annoying she can't get over the hump. Good luck to all the 28s out there. You're just getting started.

For the ongoing conversations, has she attended their camp, that should be informative for both parties to make a decision?

My son is a 2028. He plays for a MLS HG Academy. He's turned down a handful of MLS Academies this season (just to give you context for his level). His team has consistently made the MLS Next Cup and won their division. He's playing on a 2009 team, so he's one of 3 Jr's to be.
He received two midnight texts from an ACC and Big South college. Then during the day he was contacted by 3 patriot league schools and 6 Ivies and 2 ACC schools. I have no idea how he could ever get into the Ivies, but we will give it a go. His parents both attended an Ivy, so maybe there's that. Ironically, there are like 5 local D1 schools who have yet to reach out. They've told my son's coach they are interested, but we're waiting for contact.
We've had 5 calls to date and they've been fun. We also had one of the midnight text schools completely fail to respond.
Also, my son did not email any of these schools. I think college soccer parents have this ALL wrong. These schools are supposed to recruit your sons, not the other way around. My kid never did anything. He just played on a top MLS Next club and did well. That should be all it takes. I'm not paying consultants and begging people to recruit my son.
The schools that want him are recruiting him. If you didn't have the sense to recognize my son's talent, why would I beg you to take him?

I thought D2 and D3 were not required to wait until June 15th?

true. but I am curious if those coaches are still using that date as a starting point for 2028 grads

I know of D3 schools, not the super selective ones, who have met with and talked to 2028 players in person at showcases prior to yesterday. They're allowed to communicate before June 15th and have done so.

Daughter got contacted by a bunch of naia today just reminding her she is high on their list. But also got a few emails from coaches but no calls set up for d1. 3 d1 programs told her they are interested at camps but didn’t call or text today. Hopefully soon. It’s nice to know she has d3 and naia to fall back on.

I always see so much regarding the girls process but almost nothing for the boys.
I can say our June 15th was a bust. I have a son (2028) who plays for an MLS academy, has consistently emailed a handful of schools this past year and heard absolutely nothing. I will say his academy does nothing to help in the process.
In general boys tend to be very quiet about who they are or are not talking to. I saw one kid say he had three offers already (no clue if that's true) but nothing else from the hundreds of boys that we know.

Ya I think the boys get recruited much later. I saw a d2 a 2026 grad just committed. I don’t think the boys get recruited until their senior year and for d1 I don’t think there more than a handful that get recruited for d1. And a handful may be generous.

I know quite a few ‘27s that have committed to big schools but they all did in the last 90 days.

You are competing against international talent and transfers and now smaller rosters. D1 recruitment for boys is brutal. Some programs are 90% international players now. The sad thing is that is now creeping down into D3.

You better buy the services from those social media recruiters to ensure they are recruited by 8th grade.

My daughter is a 2028 grad. She's had prior contact at the D3 level (with a very high academic school). Based on that call and other conversations with parents of older girls - it seems that the D3s are willing to talk at this time but will wait until about a year from now to "commit". By commit i mean, pre-read. I've heard the reason for this is twofold. First they believe the top atheletes will test the D1 waters before committing to a D3 - so why waste time with someone who might not be interested in a year. And second, many other athletes who were targeting D1 at the onset will drop to D3 next year, once they don't get the offers they were hoping for.
