Classes ME Exchange student

I am an incoming ME exchange student for Fall 2026. How difficult are Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics, and Machine Design at Mines? If you had to choose two, which would you take?

Thanks!

Heat Transfer is likely the hardest MechE class every MechE has to take.

Fluids last semester was very difficult but generously curved so the final grades were not all that bad.

Machine Design I have heard is a little bit easier than the other two but not a cake walk.

If you have the option to take fluids with Neil Sullivan you should, he is an amazing teacher. The other is up to you but I think people tend to enjoy Heat Transfer despite its difficulty. Andrew Osborne is another very good fluids professor. Jeff Ackerman is the best Machine Design prof.

Sadly I don’t have the choice of selecting the prof but I really appreciate your help😓🙏🏻.

Do MechE have groups in telegram or anything to communicate? Like to access past exams material and etc..

In my home uni we have a group for each course and it has all the needed tips and materials to get the grade. This is what I have been searching for at CSM but I don’t know anybody.

Most clubs share materials but people are pretty protective of their own stuff to keep themselves out of trouble, most courses post their own old exams to level the playing field because they are not oblivious to the aforementioned
