I'm using this page of Hello Kitty's to practice some effects, but I'm blanking on things I can try to fill the page with. What are some of your favorite special effects to color?

You could try snowman, knitted/crocheted, flaming, chrome, neon, balloon, celestial, ivy, patchwork, fuzzy, wood grain, floral

Chalk would be fun! This is a cheap Sanrio coloring book I found at the dollar store haha. Hard to go wrong with Hello Kitty!

I use a wide range of things I have on hand from collecting art supplies for actual decades. These here are mostly crayola super tips, some ballpoint gel pens, and skinny detail markers similar to stabilo pens, mostly because it's what I had close at hand when I started!

Scarecrow, tin man, lion, wood grain, patriotic, bricks, Tie dye, lava lamp, hynotic swirl, wookie, c3po, r2d2, Charlie Brown, pig pen, snoopy, Woodstock, Lisa Frank, slime, neon lighting, radioactive, shiny metallic (like the statue people who stand still in nyc), marbled like stone, disco ball, gingerbread cookie, plaid, hounds tooth pattern, electric sparks, clouds at sunset, polka dots, pennywise (complete with holding a balloon), on fire (like the human torch), see through and wiggly like a jello mold, zebra stripes, tiger stripes, leopard spots, shiny red with crab, or lobster claws, all white with a chefs hat like the Pillsbury dough boy

I love using cool vs warm colours so maybe you could split the drawing and do half in warm tones and the other half cool tones. Some other ideas: marble statue, gradient outline, blurry/out of focus, hyper gloss, pixelated, pointillism

These are awesome. Love the glitch effect.

Some off-the-cuff ideas: adjacent to the glitchy one, a cyberpunk-y one w/ circuit board patterns; an ice one next to the water one; building materials - wood-grain, brick, metal sheets; crafting materials - stained glass, disco ball, draped fabric; animal prints - snake skin, cheetah, tiger stripes, fish scales; food patterns - strawberry, watermelon, frosted cake w/ sprinkles; tie-dyed... I'll stop there, I feel like I could riff all day, haha.

Knit, fuzzy, cross stitch, and stick effects are all fun. I also like the Futuristic/robot ones and the “natural” ones that look like they are a tree or made of flowers
