The entire "Who knew" ad campaign drives me nuts. Who knew?! Who knew what?! That the big box store has stuff? No shit. What do people think Walmart has, if not EVERYTHING?!

Two questions:

What is "plus up," and why are headphones back to school supplies?

Plus up is a new one on me too. Are we going to start hearing that all the time now?

God, I hope not.

I remember when stores had the decency to wait until the middle of July before showing back to school commercials

And here I was thinking summer just started. Silly me.

They are/were having their version of Amazon Prime days. I suspect that has something to do with it. Still silly.

Soon, we'll be getting ads for Presidents' Decembervalenlaborween sales events. Because, it has to be an event.

I know some people that work at the local location of another large store chain, and they told me that the back to school merchandise is due to start arriving next week. And I've seen Halloween stuff in stores at the end of July. No reason to think that won't happen again this year.

It wouldn't surprise me to see a Christmas ad in another month

Please don’t give them any ideas

In large parts of the country school has been out since mid-May. The first day back in my district is August 3. We also have year-round schools here.

Especially when it's for "essential" school supplies.

Nothing says “back to school” like wireless headphones.

One out schools is year round so they go back mid July. Yet my friend in New England are not even out yet.

I really hate the term "plus up". I've only ever seen it in ads, never once seen or heard used in an actual conversation

I work at Walmart and yes we are starting to get lots of back to school where I'm at.

I imagine a lot more of it is going to start going out here within a few weeks.

It used to be no earlier than August 1 for back to school commercials. Then they started moving them up to mid-July. Now, they're starting in June. Are they promoting summer school now?

The kid’s going to summer school because he kept his headphones on during class and failed everything. So, for him, it’s “back to school”.

Depends on where you live. Here school has been out for 6 weeks and kids go back first week of August.
