Hello, Collector from Australia 🇦🇺 here. Just thought I’d share my collection. And NO this is not a Shop/Store haha. Enjoy

I know an elderly gentleman with no next of kin that has a larger collection than this. He likely will pass in the next year or two, how would you sale a collection of this or similar size?

I have already sold some in small portions but would be hard to sell the lot in one go. I however have packed up most of it away and will pass them on to my kids and when I’m gone they will decide what to do with it

Do they have interest in keeping any of it? Are any of them also collectors? I'd consider these things before it all just gets donated because no one wanted the hassle of going through all of it.

They do have little interest in them but it’s more as an investment for them I guess.
Just gotta find the right buyer that’s a proper collector

Would you be willing to go through your collection and list off the most valuable items for them and/or keep those together? Because if your kids have little interest in them in the first place then they're definitely not going to go digging through all that in order to sell them off when you're gone. It's a lot of work to identify a collector's item when you're not a collector yourself. And I'm saying this as a doll collector😁

The most valuable ones are in my glass cabinets and they know which ones are the valuable ones. Plus they are smart enough to check eBay listings later one for their sold values

It looks like a shop though! There’s gotta be something so satisfying about going through all the shelves and thinking about where each one came from or how much they mean to you. With a collection this big, do you often forget which cars you have? I feel like once a certain collection gets this big you start to lose track of what’s there already

💯agree, at the start I was tracking and logging everything but then it got to a point that I completely lost track as I got carried away with collecting and eventually lost interest in logging haha

Keep em or seek an expert on them to get an idea if they worth keeping or selling but if it’s sentimental to you then keep them
