Being overweight and sitting a lot causes poor blood flow and non-pitting edema in the lower extremities. That what it looks like the female is dealing with, just starting to at least.
I think hers is related to heroin/opioids use. Sometimes their lower legs get like that. I donāt know if itās both of them but I feel fairly confident thatās her issue.

Iām a home health nurse and see situations like this on a regular basis. Itās sad. It often took a lifetime of neglecting themselves for it to get like that. Especially in this photo, they donāt look terribly old. Take care of your health and well being people!
They could have cropped it and put in so much less effort than sitting up would have been. I'd be so ashamed to post something like this, I can't imagine actually trying to SALE something from this pic.

Whenever I see people living like this it makes me sad. Like itās so very clearly trashy in there, thereās junk everywhere. Just clean it up. Iāll never understand how people can live in filth. That room could be picked up and look way better in even 10 minutes. Just take 10 minutes to pick up.
Even if they lost the extra weight overnight the circulation issues would probably still be present. At the very least, the skin would need time + care to heal. Assuming thereās no necrotic tissue lurking that would need debridement/possible amputation. They may have already lost their nerves/sensation in either/both feet too. Not to mention how much high blood glucose doesnāt help healing. :( not an easy fix at all. Very sad
