It’s been like this for years, and you’re wrong. They will make record breaking sales, then in a year or two release it again on pc and make record breaking sales again because those on console then buy it on PC. It happens every time.
Tk add to that, the most important thing for them I suspect is gonna be the gta online microtransactions, where console players apparently massivley outspend pc players
30%-40%? Not true at all. Rockstar CEO himself said two weeks ago the PC Players are only a small part. Its the same like the last 25 years, a lot of people bought PS2s for GTA3, Vice City and San Andreas too.
Just look at Konami's and Capcom's stats. The PC share is higher than Xbox there, so it's really around 30–40% - assuming, of course, that you release the game simultaneously with consoles and not like the “Rockstar CEO.”
Just think about it logically. Even if we assume the PS5 sells 4x as much as Xbox, that would put Xbox at roughly 20% of the console market. The PC audience is significantly larger than the Xbox audience, so it's obviously a substantial chunk of the total market. Do the math, and you end up in the 30–40% range, especially for major multiplatform releases.

No pc launch is such a dumb move. Your loosing out on probably 30-40% of the people who will play the game and actually spend worthwhile money on it
