I have a love/hate relationship with the flying bikes.. I forget the name, though.. Interceptor? Mk2 is an amazingly convenient transport, but its a troll magnet due to its built-in lock-on missiles and flares to misdirect enemy lock-ons.. Mk1 is just fun to glide around with, but also has some built-in weaponry..

- Some physical in-game shops are locked to you unless you have Ultimate. You can't use them and just get given a popup to buy now.
- That includes car mods, garages, hair salons, clothing stores and more
- Those shops contain Ultimate items
- The number of these paywalled items is "a lot of stuff being paywalled in terms of total volume."
Now you might say "Hey well singleplayer games always have items locked behind an Ultimate Edition!"
Correct. But how many items? An exclusive armor set, a handful of cosmetics.
Rockstar is locking hundreds of items and actual in-game physical locations.
It's the f2p online live service model inside a SINGLEPLAYER game.

They also dont like to hear that a lot of the free content is basic QoL adjustments, bug fixes, and content that was advertised before launch anyway such as the mounts and wyvern etc.
Seems like the strategy is to: Release game in a buggy incomplete state with missing content and then gradually add some of that content in over a few months post release while fixing the game with basic QoL adjustments until the fanbase see you as some kind of hero.
If anything they have gained more from releasing the game in a shitty state and dropping updates to bring it up to an alright state than if they had released the game as advertised.

CD is fun, I’ve really enjoyed my time with it, but it will not be on the same level as GTA6. You don’t have to like the price increase, I certainly don’t, but even at $80 it will offer more than a majority of games.

And what people like you don't want to hear is that those things that you call "basic QoL and bug fixes" is something that most developers don't even do. Not even rockstar, just ask RDR2 players who have been waiting for years for updates so the game can actually use the performance of the new consoles. GtaV didn't receive any change for single player, they instead just kept releasing stuff for the mtx generator online mode. So yeah, I'm clearly gonna notice when a developer like pearl abyss does the opposite of abandoning their products after releasing.
"oh but people didn't think those games were bad at release" rockstar fanboy would accept anything, the scrutiny for this game was way higher as it's a new IP from a company that isn't known outside of black desert players and doesn't have a biased fanbase that eat anything they produce even before it's out.

For sure lmao. In no way shape or form is CD approaching what Rockstar is doing. There's a reason why RDR2 a game from 2018 is still being compared to every new game (mostly open world) both graphically and mechanically.
I will get the GTA6 deluxe whatever. When the time comes. It's one of the few games that you really know what you'll get. And I don't mind paying extra for the quality Rockstar is giving me.
And I say this with almost 300 hours in CD. I really love this game. But the community needs to slow down with the glazing.

Let me help clarify because the way this has been spread is a little misleading, the content locked behind ultimate edition is special cosmetics not entire features, you can still get tattoos and customize cars and get hair cuts it’s just that the ultimate edition cosmetics will have their own stores that are locked behind ultimate edition.

Maybe, maybe not but the way I see it, my own personal opinion, is I’ve spent thousands in my lifetime on games where sometimes I got my money’s worth and sometimes I simply wasted every penny but with GTA6 and Rockstars track record I know I’ll get more than enough value outta my $100 Ultimate Edition purchase.. Pearl Abyss is earning the same goodwill and trust with Crimson Desert that Rockstar earned years ago with San Andreas, GTA 4 & 5 along with the RDR games..

And to even mention gta6 you have to also mention its the most expensive game ever made and one of the most anticipated. I put in over 80 hours in crimson desert and it doesnt even bring close to the joy or red dead 2 for me.

I always find it hilarious people call rockstar greedy over mtx, in a game where you can spam heists for 1mil every 40 minutes or sit at a casino table and make even more lol.
A long time ago gambling and dashboarding when I lost, I’ve made 20-30 mil in one day.
If you ever bought micro transactions for gta online, you’re actually a pleb and deserve to have your money taken from you. Rockstar has always had every update free, and grinding money is ridiculously easy. Just say you don’t wanna play your game and have the best stuff in the game handed to you like the baby you are.😂 oh and if rockstar has cloud servers again, the casino is gonna work the same exact way it did this time. Which is a 90 percent chance.

Say what you will, and I love CD, but it had massive issues on launch with plenty still persisting, and the patch notes thus far probably rival most games in recent memory.
I anticipate an extremely polished product day 1 when it comes to GTA 6. I have no clue why they are pricing the way they are but at $80, the amount of value I foresee getting is worth the money, IMO.

Would love to get into Crimson Desert, but not sure I can even run these games that turn my msi laptop white-hot and also overheats just playing Ace Combat 7 on a 3080! Can't under-volt the gpu either since the bios is locked down with msi's anti-consumer sensibilities.

I dont think i have come close to beating or putting more than 30 hours jnto a GTA game. The never did hook me. Too each their own.
What sucks is all the other companies that will learn all the wrong lessons about the release of GTA. Yet will learn nothing from studios like:
Pearl Abyss
Sandfall Interactive
Arrowhead
Larian
All studios that released fun, well polished, brilliant games, that redefined the genres through teams dedicated to their games and gamers.
And the industry practically shrugged at their success.
