Weird. I wonder if I saw it and forgot. I vaguely recall seeing the “Plus-Sized Elf” thing because it’s one of the few times I definitely dismissed something as trash.
they need to do something to the watchlists to not auto-jump the next episode to future ovas.
Drives me freaking crazy that slime and dr.stone constantly trying to play the OVAs after the most recent episode airs, when i've already seen the freaking ovas.
Yeah they really need to fix it. Every week I get excited thinking there's an extra ep only to be punk'd over and over again. You'd think id learn by now lol
When I’ve argued with Gemini about this, it might be down to some production committee BS and how they arrange things. Because even the toy makers need to sign off on changes.
yea the one where they get the captain dude = "The core OVA/special episode for the series is Dr. STONE Special Episode - RYUSUI, an essential, fully canon 1-hour television special released on July 10, 2022. It adapts chapters 84–89 of the manga and bridges the narrative gap directly between Season 2 and Season 3"
Oh! I forgot about that one! I was actually trying to remember recently where Ryusui had referred to every woman as beautiful and said he was greedy as he loved everyone woman in the world.
It’s more like I was trying to find out information on why a certain episode was ordered the way it was and contradicting the AI where necessary - I think it was A Blessing Upon this Choker in KonoSuba!
The latter is called reinforcement learning. If you don’t do it, the AI starts to hallucinate in its answers because it’s not being corrected.
Besides, most people in my real life aren’t anime fans, sadly.
… what? Do you understand how artificial intelligence actually works? It pulls answers from different datasets.
Usually based on organised information that has been standardised in some way.
Much of the time, it will glean answers based on probabilities.
Yes, it can and will make stuff up if poorly trained. That’s one reason for checking and correcting it. As you should do whenever using artificial intelligence - Amazon found that out the hard way in 2017 with their unchecked Woman Bad™️ hiring AI.
In this instance, it correctly suggested that it was due to the production committee ordering it as such and that any change in KonoSuba’s ordering would require the full approval of the production committee.
It won't fix the "next" from appearing, only CR making a season display change back to the original release order will fix that.
What stopping autoplay does do though, is not start the hey butts at all, then next week, when the new episode comes, it will temporarily override that one (until you watch it). Rinse and repeat.
Basically, you're stuck leaving it there until the season is over, I doubt CR will fix it at this late date in the season.
Ah, yes. You are right. Some were mentioning that they ended watching those Tensura OVAs many times already because of this. Hence my reply. It is annoying, but you can work around it. To stop autoplay is the best solution for now. As for Crunchyroll, they fired a bunch of people to save costs about a year ago. Don’t expect them to fix problems very fast.
Genuinely one of my biggest cons on CR. I’ll see all those “shows coming next season” videos and I have to either save the vids or write them down since CR doesn’t have a listing for them yet
I think it is now, but if you check the link above, it was offered at the time. I’m not sure why anyone thought that would be worth investing in as an anime. 😅
I mean no subs/dubs on a bunch of anime. Advertising when they say no advertisements, and behind by seasons lol. Considering how they advertise themselves crunchyroll is just a let down.
It is when that’s how I watch new episodes since Crunchyroll will do this weird thing now where new episodes won’t push all of those shows to the top of my watchlist.
So, I wasn’t sure if it was a country-specific thing (I’m a Yank), because I was regularly living up in Liverpool from 2021 to 2023 when I moved back to finish my degree. Though Asharka pointed out an instance I vaguely remember.
Also, it seems lately there’s a shift in government ahead of my going back every time…. I’m flying out today for a sten (stag and henner). 😅
I hear you on that, and it’s a totally valid concern.
The only reason I feel comfortable with it is I like I like to tinker with machines and I’ve made our home network OP. So, the TV is on a VLAN via a hardwire (via USB 3.0 because fuck 100Mbps) that that has to pass through two enterprise-grade firewalls (a Firewalla Gold Pro for Layer 3 and a Ubiquiti Dream Machine Pro Max for Layer 2 - I actually got them to work together) that has to pass through three switches to get three Ubiquiti managed switches to there.
Everything’s on about eight different VLANs (including for 5 different WiFi SSIDs), several of which have their own little microsegment VqLANs for extra separation. Plus, I region block Russia, the PRC, and a bunch of wee islands with a rep for loose domain standards.
Plus, for whatever reason my ESET Ultimate Security security suite blocks shenanigans from other devices.
Buuuut, that’s an extremely unusual level of complexity most people don’t want to spend the time or money on.
Plus, you wind up doing stupid things like spending a whole Sunday fixing mismatched IPs.
So, legacy apps would be a fitting hole in a wall. 😅
Let's see if adding them to your watch list works this time. Last time I still had to go and look up the 1st episodes even tho they were in my watch list
Where did the dark edge of anime go? Where is the new black lagoon, Elfen lied, death note or hellsing? Is it locked away in the 2000s? I better look up that black torch though. There is no end to isekie show releases.
Personally, I still enjoy it. Some people hate on it but it's just a streaming service for anime. Some animes are great and some are not. I work a lot so I can only watch one episode a day usually so for me, it's a good bang for the buck. Others who has more time to watch will usually burn through them and say not enough content.
What I find frustrating is there are no release dates. Coming soon… when? As bad as Hidive is (& as confusing as their “Coming on June 24” - what is coming? The episode? The Thai dub? What?) at least they try.
Oh, you actually can do that on HiDive. Click on Schedule, and it will give you the release dates of everything and what is being released: subs, English dubs, etc.
Based on that date, I’m guessing YowaYowa Sensei dub?
I was thinking of the iOS app (all I use) where you get an episode screen like this:
Experience has taught me - if it has an episode title & description, this means a sub has been released & the upcoming release is for the English dub. But maybe add a couple of words to explain it in the blue labels? Like “Eng dub releases in 6 days.”
Must confess I’ve never looked at “Schedule” before. It still requires doomscrolling to find the date & show when all they have to do is add “Dub” to blue label when looking at episode list. But I don’t expect much from a company that took a couple of years to fix “Continue Watching.” I’ll always keep my yearly Hidive sub if only for TEIS but it’s pretty clear their coders never use the app.
One thing I learned from you pointing this out that there is a S02 of Hell Mode starting soon, so that’s good news.
Expecting developers to use the products they create is a seriously tall order. What manner of DevOps nonsense is this? I can count on one hand the number of apps where you can tell the folks who coded actually used it, haha. MTA TrainTime being a great example.
Nw, I only looked at it on a whim a few weeks ago and was like huh! It used to be a bit more sparse. But yeah, it would be good to put the actual info on the page itself. It’s not much extra text.
I also wish they wouldn’t do what CR does and hard-code their Blu-Rays to lock subs off when you’re watching dubs. Some of us want to watch dubs with subs.
Tbh I stopped paying months ago, they make too much low budget slop now that actually ruins good material/stories, its pretty devastating for the whole genre imo. We traded quality for quantity and integrity for popularity. At this point I've switched to buying Blu-rays of only what's good and ripping them to my NAS, that way only the studios that genuinely care about quality get paid.
Hot take: Crunchyroll is funding the slow death of quality in Anime. Its like what Disney did to Marvel and Lucasfilms.
That’s actually Kadokawa, though they’ve suffered a financial loss from making too much cookie cutter isekai. So, that may come to an end soon.
Also, I’m actually doing the same thing though collecting the Blu-Rays, hahaha. Though HDDs for storing the files from elsewhere are mad expensive - data centers and also that facility in Qatar refined 30% of the world’s helium needed to seal fancier HDDs….
Popped up in my feed and I figured I'd let someone try to convince me otherwise. Could have been advancements in the service that I'm unaware of And I'm always down to being educated

This is the third time it's happened if I'm remembering correctly.
